This was my first Worldpackers experience and it by far exceeded my expectations of volunteering abroad. Tasks were basic hospitality chores. Greeting people, checkin people in and keeping the place clean and tidy. I got to meet lots of other travellers so the fun never ended! I'm super grateful for this experience and recommend it to anyone who is looking to take the leap abroad! Thanks Yorgos for everything !!

I had an amazing time working here with Yorgos, Pavlos and the other volunteers! They were so relaxed and easy, letting us fit our shifts around any excursions or trips around Crete that we wanted to do. The work was not difficult, and the people are so friendly that I don't think there's anyway you could have a bad time here! Thank you so much to the whole the hostel team for making me feel so welcome and sharing all your tips on enjoying Crete!

I enjoyed my time on Crete! Hours and job tasks discussed and schedule is made each week with the host, everyone at hostel was very kind and helpful. I worked closer to the end of the season, so was not super busy. Plenty of free time to explore Heraklion and other parts of the island. Thank you for everything!! Efkaristo🙏🏼

I loved my time at the hostel! Yorgis and Pavlos are so kind and helpful. The work is very straightforward and the hours were always respected. Outside of work it's so easy to see so much of the island and being located in such a central spot is really helpful. Overall I had such a good time, met amazing people and loved my time in Crete! Thank you for having me and such a great month

My experience at the hostel was a great one. Yorgis, Pavlos and Maria are lovely people and immediately welcomed me to the hostel and set clear expectations and shifts from the very first day. The tasks are simple enough and easy to pick up as the hostel is small. The hostel is right next to the Heraklion city center so it's very easy to get around on your days off! Although the volunteer living space was a bit cramped, it was an overall good experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a more relaxed hostel experience :)

I volunteered here for a month and had a wonderful time! Ioannis helped train me but I mostly interacted with Yorgos. When he wasn't onsite he quickly responded to my questions via WhatsApp, and was flexible when making the schedule to accommodate my time off. I also worked with Pavlos who is so lovely and welcoming! I did tasks like checking in guests, cleaning, and tending the bar. The work wasn't difficult and there is a lot of downtime. The only negative is the volunteer room as its small and does not have a window. Otherwise I recommend for the hostel community and the beauty of Crete!

This was my first Worldpackers experience and overall it was amazing! Yorgos and Pavlos are so welcoming, and have some great recommendations for Crete. The work was simple and easy to learn, the hours are respected and flexible when making plans/ exploring the island. It provided a great chance to make some new friends from around the world. It is such a lovely hostel to be in, the only downside I would say is the team dorm. It is right by the reception and so occasionally felt like you were responsible outside of set hours when guests would knock on the door and it can interrupt sleep

Overall my time in Heraklion and the hostel was positive. Yorgis was kind and flexible, Pavlos was kind and very fun to work with, however Maria was intimidating and often came off as rude towards staff and guest. The hostel is beautiful and has a great rooftop however the volunteer room is a small windowless room with no air conditioning and was right off of reception which lead to guests knocking on the door or just walking in to the room. cleaning tasks were not difficult after learning how Maria does it, some were dirtier such as changing the garbage used for toilet paper.

The hostel was my first Worldpackers experience. The tasks were fairly easy - doing the beds, cleaning, checking guests in, bartending - the hours were respected and the schedule was flexible. I had plenty of time to visit the island and met wonderful people! The only downside was the volunteers room (no window, no AC, no natural light : only a vent, a fan and a single lightbulb; the light from the guests' bathroom came through the vent; guests were knocking on our door a lot....) which made it hard for me and the other volunteer to rest. Overall, it was a good experience.

Yorgos, Pavlos and Maria are great hosts in a beautiful hostel that is very central in Heraklion. Me and my boyfriend volunteered for a month and had a great time exploring Crete! The hours were respected, although the times we worked changed day to day. The tasks are as stated and allows you to socialise with the guests which was great. We did sleep in one of their 8-bed rooms and not a private room, but as it wasn't high season we didn't have many other guest in the room with us. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend this hostel!! Thank you for an amazing experience!!
