My experience was so good! The work is fairly simple and a staff member is always with you if you have any questions. The staff are AMAZING and really try to get to know all the volunteers. The hostel itself is beautiful! However, I would just be aware that the volunteer house is not the same. It is disconnected from the hostel, which is nice, but not upkept very well (especially the bathrooms). Luckily you are able to use the hostel bathrooms, which are always clean. This is a great place to bond with people from all over the world. Thank you to all the volunteers❤️ and thank you Saint the hostel!

Thank you the hostel !! From the second I went in the door I felt at home , the staff , other volunteers and guests all mingled positively throughout my entire time there. In terms of the hostel itself , I think it would be hard to find a hostel with nicer facilities. The kitchen , gardens , bar and rooms are absolutely beautiful, go and see for yourself ! Thank you to all the staff that made the experience so enjoyable.

My experience at the hostel was great ! The staff was incredibly welcoming, kind and always available if I had a question, the working hours are fair and respected. I also had a personal issue and the managers were really empathetic and tried their best to help. Bonding with the guests, the other volunteers and the staff was definitely the best part of the experience. Big thanks to everyone who made my time here unforgettable <3

This was my first experience doing a volunteering and was more than I ever expected. Really beautiful hostel and the staff was very welcoming and respectful. Every person of the staff and volunteers made me feel like being in home. The tasks were well defined and the schedule was always respected and flexible. My experience at the hostel was amazing! The host and team/staff made me feel welcome and respected – like a family away from home. The tasks and schedules were exactly as agreed, and the room was comfortable, meeting expectations. My time at SJ was truly amazing! The team was incredibly welcoming and supportive every step of the way. The work was fair and manageable, and whenever I had questions, there were always staff members available to help me. This was my first volunteer experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The location and surrounding area were fantastic, and I had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, even while working. The working hours and schedule were clearly communicated and very reasonable. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience!

The hostel is very clean, well-organized, and comfortable. Breakfast was good, and the location is okay – about 20 minutes to the center. As a volunteer, though, I didn't enjoy the work experience. It felt quite strict, with tasks checked closely and mistakes pointed out in front of the group. Also, there were very few volunteers during my stay, which affected the atmosphere.

The experience was not as expected and was overall disappointing. The volunteers are separated from the main hostel limiting social interaction with the small amount of travellers at the hostel since it was mostly families and group trips making it difficult to talk to anyone other than the other volunteers. However since we were always working we basically had no time to hang out with each other. The hostel employees were not all that welcoming other than Adrian and Diogo at the bar, they were amazing and the highlight of the experience. When working, bar is mostly dishes, so is breakfast.

I had such a wonderful time volunteering at the hostel! From the very beginning, the staff made me feel welcome and part of the team. Everyone was incredibly kind, patient, and always ready to help whenever I had questions or needed guidance. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, which made it easy to feel comfortable. Tasks were clear, well-organized, and balanced, leaving me plenty of time to enjoy the hostel, meet other travelers, and explore the area.
