My time at the hostel is one I will treasure forever. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and for that I have to thank each and every team member and volunteer, who all made my time so special. I would wholeheartedly recommend the hostel to any prospective volunteers- the rotas are well thought out, with varied jobs and respected hours, and team members are always available and happy to help whenever needed. The volunteer house is very comfortable, and the hostel has a beautiful bar and garden. I will forever feel like there is a piece of home at the hostel. 🫶

I have no words no describe what I have lived in the hostel. Since the very beginning everyone was very kind and I felt very welcomed. Nico is very attentive and offers his help anytime you need it. All the workers in the hostel (housekeepers, receptionists, bartenders…) made me feel part of the big family. The acommodation that is offered is very cozy and comfortable and the hours of the shifts are respected. I didn't have any bar experience before I came but they taught me a lot and I really enjoyed those shift hours! Above all, the most rewarding thing has been meeting the other volunteers.

I had an amazing stay and would recommend it to everyone. The hours were respected and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The volunteers were what made the experience truly special and I made amazing friendships. As for the volunteer room, it's awesome. There's ac, a bathroom, two rooms, wifi, a refrigerator and place to store food and belongings . I've never had any complaints . The room is in the garden which is great because when you walk out of the door your outside with chairs to relax in. There are also a couple good trees for a hammock so bring one of you have one!

This was my first worldpackers experience, and I couldn't ask for any better. Everyone was so welcoming and it felt like home right away. The staff is amazing people that will feel like family. You get hugs every morning and feel loved. Nico did a excellent job with everything. He is fair on the schedule and treats us with respect. The working hours are respected and also very fun! The best part of the experience is all the friends you get. The volunteers will be like family. You live in a little house together in a beautiful garden. The hostel is beautiful and clean. Love you the hostel🫶🏽

My stay at the hostel was truly the best experience of my entire life. Each and every staff member and other volunteer made me feel so welcome from the moment I arrived. The working hours are respected and simple for what you get in return which is a lifelong second home and family. The living accommodations have air conditioning and you are responsible as the volunteer group for keeping it tidy. I have never shed so many tears in my life leaving a place. Thank you for memories that will last me a lifetime. I was so nervous before arriving but that was instantly washed away:)

My experience at the hostel was one of the best of my life. The hostel is the best I have ever seen, a beautiful building with a lot of green spaces. The volunteer room is nice especially because is separated by the rest of the hostel building and it is in the middle of a beautiful garden. All the people from the staff are very friendly and available to help, most of them have a very good English level. The experience is also good to socialize with guests. I felt in family with the others volunteers. Thanks Nico to have given me this possibility to join the hostel.

This experience was better then all of initial my expectations. The dorm room was separate from the guest creating our own space for the group of volunteers to relax and connect. The gardens where beautiful and allowed for me to not feel cramped or stuck inside while I stayed at the hostel. All of the tasks where easy and the full time staff was super friendly and helpful making it not even feel like work at some times. The location was a 20 minute walk from the city center. This allowed for it not to feel super touristic around the hostel Jordis, but still very close to everything. 100% recommend

I loved my six weeks at the hostel! Anything I was worried about going in wasn't an issue. The work is manageable and hours are respected. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. The volunteers room is totally fine as long as you're prepared to be in a shared space. The hostel is social enough to meet people but never too crazy. I also got lucky with very fun volunteers to work and live with! 10/10 first volunteer experience

My 6 week stay at SJH was definitely an experience that will stay with me forever. Nico does a great job with picking the volunteers and it shows! I found the work to be fairly easy I wouldn't say housekeeping is the hardest just the hours of the shift cut right into your day. Also bring comfortable ear plugs if you are sensitive to sound at times you can be sharing the house with 7 other people so keep that in mind you all may not have the same sleeping schedules. Other then that I would 100% SJH to anyone looking to experience the beautiful city of the hostel and create amazing bonds.
