I really enjoyed my time at the hostel and felt very welcomed! The work was fairly simple and mostly included making pancakes and cleaning the rooms. I had a lot of free time to explore Hungary and go on trips during the week. The views and hikes around the hostel are beautiful and it's very peaceful. Viktor and his family are so kind and he helped me with finding information on how to find the town my great grandfather was from, which really made me feel like he cared about my experience. I will appreciate that forever!

I loved my stay with Viktor and his family at the hostel! From the moment that I arrived I felt welcomed and the room I had was very cozy and comfortable. I enjoyed learning not only how to make pancakes (which are delicious by the way) but also about what it takes to run a hostel in a national park and a lot about Hungarian culture. I had lots of time to explore the town and take day trips to Budapest while also enjoying the nature surrounding the hostel. I also got to meet many people from Hungary who were all so kind and made it such a wonderful experience!

This was a very peaceful experience compared to most city hostels. The loudness comes at night when the guests are all going to bed, but it really is quiet and you are trusted to carry out the tasks with minimum oversight. The surroundings are all natural with some great hiking opportunities and overlooks. You have a lot of free time. There was one thing I didn't expect (to be asked to leave the hostel because it was overbooked for me), however the host was considerate in providing assistance to help me with accommodations, but I hated to leave the natural scenery to go to the city.

I almost have no words for my stay…it was amazing. The people that Viktor draws in are all fantastic. I met some of the nicest people. The work is easy for the most part, I feel like I can make pancakes/crepes with my eyes closed. Grateful for this place as it was my first Worldpackers location. If you love the woods and being in nature, you'll love this place. Sad to leave, but I feel like I have memories that will last forever. Thank you Viktor and family! 🙏

My experience in this place has been wonderful, first I would like to mention that the place is beautiful, surrounded by trees, nature and peace, Viktor the host is more than a host, we have appreciated him as a friend, because that is how he has behaved with us, he was always willing to help us with our personal things, he is an excellent person, we will definitely miss him, and also Chapel, his beautiful dog. Viktor is a kind person, despite our difficulty with English, he has always been patient with us and has cared about what we needed. We will carry this precious experience in our hearts

The people I've met will stay in my heart forever. I learned a lot about Hungarian culture and people. The house is beautiful. It's really in touch with nature. It was a pleasure to stay there. From the very first moment I felt safe and loved. I recommend this experience to all of you ❤️

Majestic. The way I changed for just 1 month staying there is incredible to describe. I needed that. For everyone looking for a place to face your fears, and connect deeply with nature and themselves - this is for you. Never the work was unmanageable and I had plenty of time to explore the place and the capital. Victor ( the host) is straightforward and supportive. Also, as a volunteer - I always had access to food and had private, cozy room. Happy I met new volunteers at the end of my stay. Thanks to everyone. Thanks for the opportunity❤️

Victor is a wonderful host and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has what they need to be happy. Although I got very sick from the summer travel season in Hungary, the lodge at the top of the hill was a beautiful and peaceful escape from the fast paced world I am all to familiar with. I would like to note though, this is not a typical hostel (with guests coming and going from all over the world). This is mostly a local Hungarian destination with a camps and weekend guests. I would certainly recommend this work exchange if this all sounds good to you though.

Well, to be my first volunteering I may say it was a really good experience. The house is over a hill rounded by a beautiful type of forest and green plants and there are many hikes to do just giving one step out of the house so if you like hiking this could be your place, it is comfortable with all the basic facilities also the food are traditional plates of Hungary. The task consists of making pancakes, peeling vegetables, cook some dishes, cleaning and housekeeping. The people are very kind, Viktor and Eszter are very friendly and helpful as well as Latsko and the guys during the weekend!
