A guesthouse like home

Christina was lovely! Very enthusiastic with a lot of energy, she was like a mother figure! There are 2 accom, one with a kitchen and a pool which was really nice and the other at the guest house which wasn't so equipped as there's only a microwave there. Alvor is a small but nice town with really nice beaches around. I think two weeks was enough as it was getting abit repetitive and we'd already explored the surrounding areas. But I would definitely come back back for a relaxing holiday as the beaches weren't overpacked like in portimao. All in all we had a great time. Thankyou Christina

It was my first visit to Portugal and I really liked the location. It is a very nice part with beautiful beaches. It is possible to come up with various activities in the area, such as kayaking, paddleboarding, some boat trips to the caves, etc.The work was well distributed, there were more of us volunteers, so I think that each volunteer knew what his job was and over time it went faster and faster. Maybe for the next season, I would definitely recommend modernizing the housing for volunteers more. But it's just my opinion. But I definitely recommend it to other volunteers, a great experience.

The host and the other volunteers were all lovely and welcoming! My only conern about the place is that the cleaning supplies are not all great, for example all the vacuums are broken, if that could be changed in the future that would be great. But other than that, it was a great experience, it was more than worth it for all the people I met!

Volunteering at Alvor with Cristina and Fabio was an amazing experience, we really felt welcomed and extremely well taking care of. The workload was completely manageable, and once we got to know the other volunteers it became easier. The location is wonderful and we had time to explore nearby towns and all the beaches. To sum up, it was a great experience and I'm very glad to have met such amazing people

I had a fantastic time! Cristina is very kind and welcoming. The hours were the same every day which made planning my non-working hours very easy, I was able to switch my day off with absolutely no problem, and the work was reasonable. I also got to see Alvor, a town I probably wouldn't have stopped in otherwise but I'm very glad I did. It's only a 30 minute bus ride to Lagos, or 15 to Portimão, and the bus stop is a 5 minute walk away.

It's been a pleasure volunteering in Alvor. I was staying in the main guesthouse so in 10min i was at the beach ! perfect localisation. Although if you are staying in the other house it's 30min walking (no bike). The hosts are very nice once you get to know them. The work hours were always respected and i was assigned to breakfast all along my stay, it's an easy work. One thing i would say a bit more negative is that the host provide very few equipment to do the work (im taking about cleaning here) i thought it was in a « sustainable » kind of practice but no it's just called being cheap.

This was my first volunteer experience and i was very happy with how it went. Christina and Fabio are both amazing. The work was good, i liked it, i cleaned the kitchen, never worked more than 5 hours. The place is nice too and its like 10-15 minutes from the beach, 45 minutes by walk from the cliffs. I loghten my stay a little, because it was really nice. I definitely recommend🤚🌸

I have no complaints about my time volunteering in Alvor! The work was simple and constantly changing so nothing got too repetitive. I will say that if you are a male and are not volunteering during the peak busy season prepare for a good amount of outdoor work. One of Cristina's properties backs onto a large field, I spent most of my days working doing gardening, labour and minor construction work. Not what I was expecting to do here but I did enjoy it! Aside from that Cristina was an great host and Alvor was awesome to explore! (Also shout out to Thiago & Anna for being so welcoming!)
