Living a self sufficient life in Southern Sweden! =)
The experience
This position is mostly about gardening. Over the recent years we created a permaculture garden that gives us enough vergetables for the whole year. Composting is one of the keys in our work, because we are depending on access to good compost to keep our garden system running.
From July to September harvesting and foraging are the main tasks for this position.

Program Details
We start working together at around 9 am, one day it could be longer, another day shorter. We actually never count the working hours, it's up to you how much work you want to do.
Whatever you do, it's important that you do your job as good as you can. It's no help when we have to do it again ourselves anyway, because it hasn't been done properly. Take your time and do it as good as you can. That's way more important than doing it quickly.
Activities & Shift
In early spring we will work in the forest to collect fire wood and wood for the garden. Apart from that, until March we will boil some maple syrup, that is something special here in Europe. If you are interested how this works, you can learn it here.
In April/ May we will prepare the garden for the growing season.
From July to September it's about harvesting in the garden. Besides that, we will pick mushrooms and wild berries in the forest. We will also make wine from those berries.
We also have bees and will be harvesting honey and use it for different purpose, one of them is making mead. You can learn about all of this if you show some interst in these things.
If it all works out fine, we will take you on a trip in our beatiful nature which you will never forget. Either with the canoe, kayak, sailboat or bicycles.
Rules
We are not very restrictive with the most things. But there's no smoking in all of the buildings.
