I had a great 5 weeks at the hostel this summer. It's a rewarding experience for anyone who enjoys interacting with guests from around the world. The work was varied and enjoyable, though physically demanding at times. My tasks mainly included cleaning, laundry, and showing guests to rooms. There was a good balance between work and free time, with plenty of opportunities to experience Dubrovnik and surrounding areas. The other volunteers were great, and I enjoyed socialising with them. The staff building was also great. Matea was very communicative and supportive - Thank you for the stay!

I had a really nice time during my stay in Dubrovnik — the city is beautiful and the hostel has a great vibe. I really enjoyed my time volunteering at the hostel, and would recommend this experience for anyone interested in meeting lots of new people in a beautiful place. The tasks were fairly straightforward like laundry and checking in guests however the shifts could get strenuous especially with the heat. The work could get pretty exhausting after some time however I didn't mind as I had lots of free time otherwise to spend at the beach and explore Dubrovnik. Matea was helpful whenever I needed anything and made my experience comfortable. Any questions feel free to shoot me a msg!

I wish I had good things to say, but I don't. I was supposed to stay for 1 month. After one week, I decided to leave with another volunteer who also couldn't stand it. It was obvious to us that it was an unsustainable situation. I do think that this volunteering has potential, if there was more respect for the time of people who are helping out in exchange for a bed. But it's crystal clear that volunteers are being used for free labour. 6 hours a day is fine if there's common sense. Asking volunteers to do the exact same tasks as paid staff for zero remuneration is borderline illegal.

This was my first volunteering experience, and it couldn't have been better! The hostel's location in the hostel is very convenient for exploring the city and the nearby beaches. Matea and Dario were incredible hosts, they always answered questions very quickly and were really flexible! The staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly, and they made me feel at home! As a volunteer, I had the chance to interact with guests daily and walk all over the hostel, as my main task was to take the guests to the different buildings. I'd highly recommend this volunteer experience!

I had a fantastic time at the hostel and ended up extending my stay because I enjoyed it so much! A huge thank you to Dario and Matea. They were wonderful hosts who respected the agreed-upon hours. The hostel is also a great place to socialize, as they organize activities that encourage interaction among guests. While the night tasks aren't particularly difficult but the hours can be quite long. Overall, I loved my time here and would definitely recommend it—just keep in mind that the city can be quite expensive!
