Help us at our hostel in incredible Italy

The location is beautiful, but the living accomodations for volunteers is below average especially when compared to the hostel. Being on the top floor without AC in the summer was unbearable at times and made it difficult to reside in the apartment. It was also dirty when I arrived as it isn't cleaned between volunteers. Next year, the volunteer may stay in the hostel which should be better. The hours are good, and you have time off to explore. The cleaning shift was more work than I expected as one volunteer is expected to clean the entire hostel when the housekeeper is off.

Thanks for your feedback. The staff accommodation was explained beforehand and is quite basic, which is common for many Italian houses without air conditioning.
After being reported the house was not well kept by the previous volunteers, we’ve put clearer rules in place, hoping it will be taken more care of.
Regarding the hostel cleaning, it’s part of the volunteer role and was explained during the video call. The receptionist also helps as much as possible during that shift.

More than a hostel, it felt like home. I couldn't have asked for more: surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, getting to know people from all around the world, located in the city center... but most importantly, working side to side with amazing and lovely people that I already miss and I just left. Thanks for making this volunteering experience so special!

My month in this little corner of Italy was a dream, the vibes of the hotel are that of a small home in the middle of a postcard landscape. The tasks were simple and leave you enough time to live your own adventure in the beautiful little towns that surround the area, the social part is greatly enjoyed if you are someone who loves meeting people from the most remote places in the world, the cultural exchange and being nourished by multiple languages is what I take away the most from this place. Another of the great points in favor of this volunteering is the team at the hostel who will alway

My six weeks at the hostel were absolutely wonderful. The team is so sweet and fun to be around. The tasks are straight forward and clearly explained. You will meet a bunch of travellers from around the world and have the opportunity to share your experiences and make new ones together. There are plenty of things to do in and around La Spezia. Even on working days, going to the beach is possible. The landscapes are beautiful to see and the food is amazing. It was a summer well spent and I am thankful to have been a part of the hostel team and to have gotten to know all of you. <3

There are many opportunities you can choose from here. But I feel like I picked a four-leaf clover with the hostel. Giulia is not only an amazing person, but an incredibly fair leader and a great communicator. She has created a unique space and it shows. I was told by multiple people that it is the best hostel they've ever stayed at. La Spezia itself is charming and well connected to the rest of Liguria by train, making it incredibly easy to explore in your free time. I wish I had more space to write. Thank you for this unforgettable experience! w/ Love from SF - Chandler

Since the beggining I felt welcomed by the staff and the other volunteers like no other place, I truly felt embraced and part of something bigger. The hostel has this cosy yet vibrant dynamic, where you're able to interact and connect with guests and staff. The social part of the hostel really stands out. The organization and the cleanliness are also something worth mentioning. About the volunteer experience: the tasks were very well explained and they were respected by everyone in the hostel. You are definitely not going to be bored!

This was my first volunteer experience and I honestly feel like I hit the jackpot! The whole team - Giulia, Amilcar, Gabriele and Malen - is absolutely amazing and super welcoming, making me feel at home since the moment that I arrived. The tasks and the schedules are more than reasonable and fair for the volunteers and there is always someone there to help in case of need. The hostel is really well prepared to receive the guests and we are encouraged to socialize with them giving us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I am truly thankful for this opportunity <3

It was my first worldpacker experience and I couldn't ask for better one. Giulia is the most amazing boss you can find! She and her team are all welcoming and made me feel like I'm a part of their family. She knows what she's expecting from you and she's always there to help you with anything you need, just like other teammates. The tasks are pretty easy, the biggest part of them is to interact with guest and make them feel welcomed and happy. In between your shift you'll have enough time to explore everything in this beautiful area. I'm so happy I choose this warm, amazing place to volunteer.

The hostel is simply wonderful. My experience here was so fantastic because of the lively, funny, slightly crazy and inspiring workers and volunteers. The hostel is small, incredibly clean and cosy and brings volunteers and guests together with social events very often. I got to meet many people and have built some lovely friendships. You will stay in an apartment which is a 7 min walk from the hostel; it is very rare for volunteers to be given this luxury. You will become part of the family in this beautiful part of Italy and always feel welcomed and looked after.
