Copacabana hostel was such a perfect first volunteering experience. I worked on reception and worked 4 days Sunday - Wednesday and then 3 days off. The hours were fair and the work was super easy. At times it can feel a little slow but overall it's fine. The team are super welcoming and make an effort to speak to you. My only constructive criticism is for the living conditions to be updated. I also felt the hours for reception vs bar staff / social media roles didn't equal to reception hours

The hostel is a great place to volunteer at! The location is amazing, 5 minute walk to the famous Copacabana beach! The hostel is in a safe quieter area, but still near lots of clubs and bars. Working in reception you will meet a lot of people from all over the world and also Brasil, and the work you have to do at reception is very easy to learn, making key cards, taking a photo of the guests, and showing the guests to their rooms etc etc. On Fridays they have a big bucket of free caipirinhas during the bar and this is a great time to meet new people. But the staff room is mais ou menos

My stay at the hostel was truly unforgettable. This being my first volunteer experience, I was warmly welcomed by the whole team and the other volunteers at felt at home right away. Working in Social Media, I was working very freely with lots of time to the explore Rio and make the most of my stay. I'd love to return straight away, thank you the hostel for the lovely month :)

Really good place next to Copacabana Beach with nice people that always are helping you whatever you need. Incredible experience with them. I recommend 100% the experience.

I absolutely loved volunteering here! The other volunteers were amazing and also the staff were very welcoming. The location was great to get to anything, being next to the metro and less than 10 minutes from the beach which is all I can ask for. The work and play balance of this position was great I could do what I wanted within the day and even go out at night if I wanted! Really recommend

It was my first volunteering and I absolutely loved it, I definitely recommend it. I think it is the best place to do one, the hostel is great, the staff is super nice and the volunteering is really interesting and fun to do.
