Program Details

The Kwagalakwe Scholars Program, run by Gomba Kwagalakwe Public Health Support Foundation, is a faith-inspired effort to keep vulnerable children in rural Gomba District, Central Uganda, in school by removing hidden costs that lead to exclusion and dropouts. Despite Uganda’s Universal Primary Education policy, many families cannot afford essentials like school bags, stationery, uniforms, sanitary pads for girls, hygiene items, textbooks, exercise books, examination materials, sanitation supplies, and minor school contributions. Without these, children are sent home, miss lessons, or face shame—harming confidence, mental health, and long-term progress.
The program provides holistic support: distributing supplies, offering mentorship and life skills guidance, running hygiene workshops (especially menstrual health), organizing donation drives, and monitoring retention and outcomes. Rooted in “For God and Health Promotion” and the spirit of “Kwagalakwe” (mutual love for the vulnerable), it empowers kids from the poorest homes to stay in class, build self-esteem, and become future leaders.
Donations are warmly welcomed but always optional. A contribution of €150 fully covers one child’s school fees, uniforms, stationery, hygiene items (including sanitary pads), and all essential requirements for an entire academic year—directly preventing exclusion and investing in their future. Your support helps more scholars thrive; it’s fully transparent with updates, photos, and stories shared. Thank you for considering joining us in this meaningful work!
