Zen Warrior / Health Retreat & Spa

Ready to take a break from the stress of travel? This could be a the spot for you to enjoy beautiful views, sounds of nature, get grounded and recharge.

Help us create a place of peace while immersed in nature.

We are located on the slopes of Volcan de Agua at an elevation of 1860m above the hustle, bustle and chaos of the city. Our property is next to a nature reserve and the landscape is full of wildlife. It is a bird watcher's paradise and also home to all kinds of critters.

Hi, Nicholas here, Our little Family team consist of several daily Guatemalan workers that visit most days and are involved in the building and infrastructure projects. Sometimes separate teams that handle specific project building goals. With so many locals, it is easy to use and practice your Spanish Language skills. It is also a great opportunity to learn about Guatemalan practices and culture. Depending on your skills and enthusiasm, you can expect to work with these teams at least some of the time. Some volunteers have worked with our Guatemalan teams full time. Meanwhile, you can expect to spend time helping entertain and share energy with the more sincere members of our family, Drax (German Shepard / Wolf Mix) & his sister Echo. They are full of energy and mischief and always wanting to help out. Pepita is an adopted Xolo-itzcuintle (3000 year old Aztec hairless dog breed). She is basically like the cartoon character "Stich". Also for those with more of a feline inclination, there is the elusive and exquisitely camouflaged Pepper. Not to mention her brother Spooky who identifies as a dog. -Hours: Volunteers will be helping for approximately 3 hours a day, 5 days a week (with 2 days off) leaving you plenty of time to explore the local area and engage in cultural activities. Morning shift or afternoon shift but not through the middle (hot) hours of the day. -Meal: We only ask for 3 hours of work per day, so we will not be cooking for you. However, you have the opportunity to buy and cook what your taste desires in our shared kitchen. You will have 21 hours to chill and explore each and everyday. -Accommodation: Dormitory / Shed and the Bodega Loft. Both are enclosed sleeping spaces. One great for couples and the other for single travelers who can socialize with other volunteers. Now 100% Off-Grid and in the mountains. "Off-Grid" means we are not connected to an infrastructure grid of services like municipality power, water, etc. We collect rain water, capture energy from the sun (Solar) and use gas for cooking. Flush water toilet Refreshing non-heated showers. -Ideal for Couples : due to the off-grid environment, we have found this is an ideal program for couples as it affords a lot of solo-time together in nature.  -Tasks: Volunteers will be involved in various tasks including building and setting up the infrastructure for this exciting program. If you have specific skills such as carpentry, welding, stone work, construction is a plus.Bamboo will be our primary decorative build material, do. you have experience? We need help with the family of animals (3 cats and 3 dogs) gardening, construction, landscaping and artwork / creativity.

This was honestly one of the best Worldpackers I’ve been to. Sterling and Dani were incredibly welcoming. The property itself is beautiful.

I had a Great few weeks here. I was so happy to hep finish some projects that were ongoing. My hosts were very welcoming and were willing to help with anything I needed and shared a lot of valuable information. As were the local workers that work on the property. The dogs were amazing and I'm missing them already. I will return next time I'm in Guatemala. Good luck with the progress of your project and I hope to see yous again soon.

Sterling and Dania were wonderful hosts! I couldn’t have asked for a more accommodating and welcoming environment, I had a great time helping out at their property and playing with their amazing dogs Drax, Echo and Pepita. Their property is very rural with an incredible view of Antigua and what an amazing experience to live on a volcano! Thank you again for a wonderful time and for trusting me with your dogs :)

Me encantó!
