Wonderland Siquijor
Wonderland is a space to connect, create, and grow together.
Here at Wonderland, we run a guesthouse and a vegan restaurant, host the Wonderland community, and support various social projects around the island. So much has already happened, and we have many more exciting things to come. Our current focus is on creative arts, construction, and design projects, continuing to build and improve the space. We are also currently supporting a local dog shelter, helping with general maintenance and the animals' daily care. We’re always looking for people with positive energy, creativity, and a willingness to contribute to the team.
At the moment, we are staying in simple native huts in the community section of the project, surrounded by a peaceful natural environment, just a 5-minute walk from the famous Paliton Beach, in the centre of San Juan on the magical island of Siquijor.
From Monday to Friday, we host workshops in the morning and evening, creating opportunities for learning, self-expression, and community connection. We start the day at 7:00 AM with morning workshops, including yoga, meditation, workouts, and writing. Later, we close the day with an evening workshop such as dancing, arts, and crafts. Our workshop schedule changes weekly and depends entirely on what people want to host. All workshops are mandatory to attend, allowing everyone at Wonderland to share their passions and connect with others in the community.
Our official working hours are between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, with some slightly different responsibilities that remain flexible. Our programme is structured so that everyone still has plenty of time to explore the beautiful island and the beauty within it. 🙂
There are lots of parties, fiestas, and live music events just a short bike ride away, where we all enjoy the good vibes of the island.
I won’t write out our whole philosophy here, as there is a time and a place for everything, but in short, we are here to do great things and live a good life. We really do live in paradise, and we love to celebrate it. 🙂
The local community is incredibly kind and friendly, and people are always happy to share stories and their culture. Smiles, positivity, fun, and kindness are a huge part of Filipino culture. Siquijor is considered one of the safest places on Earth, and the people are, without a doubt, some of the kindest you’ll ever meet. We aim to match the island’s energy by being as inclusive and supportive as possible in everything we do. We have been supporting an Orphanage on a nearby island for the past year and recently hosted them all at Wonderland for a holiday away from the city.
Every afternoon, we like to head to Paliton Beach together to watch the sunset and enjoy mojitos or fresh coconuts. It’s truly something no one should miss while being in Siquijor.
Our mission is to extend a sense of home to our community and build a place where people truly belong. In the future, we plan to open a retreat centre and offer our space to educators from all over the world. We are focused on both the journey of self-discovery and on supporting the local community in every way we can.
Let’s talk more in private. 🙂
It might take a day or two, but we are committed to responding to every message. Please write to us, and you will receive our full attention, even if it takes a little while.
Wonderland
From Johnny, Michal, Wen, Seb, Tom, Hayley, Patrick, Freya, Zan, Elyn, Tsumi (Our Mama Cat) and the whole family.
We have around 50 wonderful Filipino staff who help keep Wonderland running smoothly by managing the restaurant and guesthouse, as well as handling general maintenance and construction around the property. Alongside them, we have several long-term volunteers who follow a slightly different schedule and are always happy to help, answer questions, and contribute to creating a warm and welcoming environment for everyone.
Volunteers at Wonderland can expect to be treated as part of the family from the moment they arrive. Together with Tsumi (our beloved Mama Cat) and the wider Wonderland family, we all come together to create a supportive, inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone who passes through.
