Vrinda Bhumi

Founded in 2005 by a renounced monk who dedicated his entire life to an ideal, over the years Vrinda Bhumi grew and many people began to come to live in it. Currently more than 40 people live permanently, dedicating all their efforts to promoting spirituality and consciousness through practices such as agroecology, permaculture, Yoga, mantra chanting and many other activities.

Vrinda Bhumi apart from being an ecological community, it is a Bhakti Yoga ashram. Ashram also means refuge, a place where people can concentrate and practice spirituality. The practice of Bhakti Yoga is based on the chanting of mantras, to control this mind and reach a higher state of consciousness, which brings this full knowledge, and peace in the search for the spirit of the practitioner.

At the same time, we try to balance our spiritual life with our material life, bringing agroecological and permacultural principles here to our life in the countryside. We carry out work on agroforestry, bioconstruction, ecological sanitation, vegetarian food, in this way we try to have a life in harmony, as much as possible, with nature and the planet. So for those who like natural beauty, it is worth visiting our community, here we always have space to receive people.

In Vrinda Bhumi, the sacrifice of the villagers is a conscious surrender to a higher ideal. Each day is a choice to abandon the comforts of modern life to align with a deeper purpose, where community, care for the land, and mutual respect are above individual needs. This sacrifice is an act of love, which transcends the ego and seeks to cultivate an environment where everyone can flourish in their essence.

For an Ecovillage to be founded, to be maintained and to progress in a healthy way, there must be a glue, a common ideal that keeps the residents united .
An ideal that will make each of us have the ability to put aside individual interests, and give ourselves for a collective cause.
This makes any kind of sacrifice or effort to be carried out with joy and enthusiasm, even in the face of the greatest difficulties. In Vrinda Bhumi, our glue is the spiritual search, the search for a more sublime meaning of life. We are practitioners of Bhakti yoga, and we are searching for love . Simple life, high thinking

Vrinda Bhumi is a very special place, not only for its exuberant nature, but for its community experience. Here, people from different cultures come together for a common purpose: to serve. To serve together. To serve a noble cause. And, more than that, to serve spiritually connected. This is the foundation of Vrinda Bhumi, what we call Bhakti Yoga – the Yoga of Love, the Yoga of Devotion.

Yoga means reconnection with the higher plane of consciousness, Hatha Yoga is a millennial practice where we use postures, breaths and meditations, to perform this reconnection. The effects in the physical body are a mere achievement of this practice that will deliver us emotional intelligence, mind control, peace and spirit. The control of breathing is the main responsible for regulating the flow of thoughts, and establishing in our master the necessary serenity so that we can face the main obstacles of our life. Here in Vrinda Bhumi, as it is a monastery of the Indian philosophy, in addition to an ecological community, we have the opportunity to give classes of Hatha Yoga, as well as the bases of Philosophy, according to the scriptures of India.

is a community dedicated to the expansion of consciousness through spiritual practices, the members dedicate their lives to the study and practice of the Vedic scriptures, inspiring through the practice of their own example. In the same way, permaculture, planting of native species, vegetable gardening, beekeeping, art and different activities related to the awareness and preservation of the environment and nature, are practiced in the community A community that has been welcoming volunteers for more than 15 years, and that was built thanks to their help, offers a refuge for those seeking to find meaning and purpose in their lives.

Minha experiência não poderia ter sido melhor! 🦚🤍

For me, in addition to the worldpackers volunteering experience, it's a special place for soul healing. I'm grateful for the opportunity to get to know this place, the community, its routine and to make friends there. It was a unique experience and I thank everyone for their time and exchange. Can’t recommend Vrinda Bhumi enough!! The perfect place to connect with nature, learn about life on an ecological farm and a different philosophy, and meet people from all over the world. The area is beautiful, the food is homemade and delicious, and the people are welcoming and helpful. There is so many experiences to be had: yoga classes, bread making classes, philosophy classes… a truly unique and beautiful experience.
