Ruby Lake Resort

We have many many years experience with volunteer folks coming to work with us and many returning because they love to stay and help us at Ruby Lake Resort.
Our 60+ acre property doubles as a wildlife sanctuary, with a large lagoon and forest, beside mountains and magical Ruby lake, located 3 hours north of Vancouver. We offer opportunities for swimming, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing, and exploring the second warmest lake in B.C. , while there are also countless opportunities for hiking, cycling, visiting parks, and spotting wildlife in our area. The main focus on the property is the environment, sustainable food, birds, gardens - simply put, to work in harmony with nature and marry that collaboration with our family business.

We are a family run resort and see our staff as family also. Some of us live right at the resort and some of us live locally. We all share the common interest of great food, nature and enjoying life on the Sunshine Coast. We welcome our volunteers to enjoy our beautiful surroundings and help us to create lasting memories for everyone every season. Peace and Love to all.

We had such a great time at Ruby Lake Resort. The paradise found! Brigit, Aldo and Rachel were present to answer our questions and show us what we had to do. We were valued in our work and felt part of the team. The nature and the lake aroud are beautiful and it was such a bliss to spend time in this place. We highly recommend this experience.

Volunteering at Ruby Lake was great, it's a great memory, the missions are diverse and the food is very good. The team and the work environment are great, thank you very much, we will miss Ruby Lake!

A really nice place to get in touch with nature, but the communication was almost nonexistent(which concerned food, tasks and how to get to and back from the resort). Had to leave a day early because they couldn’t provide a ride to the ferry.

Our info pack explains clearly that we do not arrange or provide the travel to and from our resort. One day notice that you want a lift ( for 3 hours turnaround travel) from us was a little unfair. If you had ensured that you communicated your needs well in advance we could have found a solution that wasn't so last minute. We literally drove the 1.5hrs to the ferry the day before. All the best Lucy.
