Ritz for Backpackers is back! After 5 years, we’re thrilled to reopen our doors and welcome travellers once again to the vibrant heart of St Kilda. With a fresh look including new privacy bunks and chilled out common areas perfect for relaxing and working, we are finally ready to bring you the ultimate backpacking experience.

Whether you’re here to soak up the sun on St Kilda Beach, explore the lively cafés and bars, or meet fellow adventurers from every corner of the globe, we’re here to make your journey unforgettable.

Our friendly team, chilled out common and co-working spaces and our awesome sports bar with great specials are all about creating connections, stories and helping you feel at home.

We are a small but social team at the Ritz with 4 regular staff and 2-3 volunteers at one time. Most guests are on working holidays and create a friendly, hostel family vibe. Work for accommodation typically requires 12 hours of work for a free week in a shared dorm. We also have a night warden position which includes a private room in a separate apartment in exchange for evening availability.
