Rain Tree Foundation

Volunteering with us offers a meaningful opportunity to support organic farming, including planting vegetables and caring for trees. You’ll also be able to spend quality time with children living in our dormitory — sharing useful activities, exchanging language, and engaging in cultural exchange that benefits both you and the local community.

We run a tree garden with over 2,000 trees and raise animals like pigs, chickens, ducks, and fish. We also have a dormitory for 16 teenagers (ages 13–18) and 6 staff. Volunteers help care for plants and animals, and may also lead fun or educational activities with the kids after school (e.g., English or computer skills). Private accommodation is provided on-site.

Our experience at Garden Eden was warm, well-organized, and rewarding. Clear communication and a thoughtful induction helped us feel prepared and respected. We helped with pruning, planting and feeding pigs-physical but manageable tasks. The bungalow offered a peaceful space, though there were a few bugs and critters (expected). Meals were delicious and kindly made mild for us. Google Translate helped us communicate as English was limited. We hoped for more connection with the students, but the kindness of the team made up for it! Sadly, we left early due to an allergic reaction to bug bites.
