Paradanusorn School

We are located in a rural area of Thailand. Here you can experience the REAL THAILAND. Uttaradit is the second friendliest City in Thailand. People are so friendly and keen to get to know you. Our kids (pupils) are happy to learn from you and give you many hugs to say Thank You for teaching them English or Chinese.

We are a family run school for mainly poor or low income families. Our school is basic but has a typical Thai charm. The Teachers and pupils are welcoming you anytime and you will experience something tourist would never see or gain. Please note that we are unable to provide free accommodation.

The best part of this the experience is definitely the kids. They’re eager to learn and always smiling at you, asking for a hug. The apartments are simple but clean, and sometimes you’ll share a twin room with someone of the same gender. There’s a bathroom, balcony, aircon, and a fridge. I rented a scooter because it’s more convenient, but the school is only about 1 km away, you can easily walk if you want. All the info is on the website, and you’ll get a presentation in your confirmation email. On your first day, Peter gives an intro and you can ask as many questions as you want.

I planned two weeks but stayed longer — that says a lot. The kids were lovely, screaming “teacher” and hugging us. One student’s drawing even became my first tattoo. Still, some things aren’t clear when applying: the accommodation is basic, shared, and not cleaned. I moved to a hotel in the last week (better). You pay separately for electricity, motorbike rental is needed, and teaching is mostly flashcards and playtime (in total around 2h). Great time, but info lacked clarity and volunteer potential wasn't fully used. Message me for full review!!

Teaching English and playing with the adorable kids at Paradanusorn School was an incredible experience. The children were eager to learn, welcoming, and sweet. My co-volunteers were enthusiastic and worked well together.

Our amazing host, Peter, went above and beyond to make us feel at home, ensuring our comfort and even taking us around to explore local culture and cuisine. Volunteers also helped with admin and maintenance projects for an hour.

This opportunity was the perfect mix of meaningful work and cultural immersion. I highly recommend it!

I miss everyone!

Peter and Sira operate a well organized volunteer teaching program. While I was there, the main focus is on grade K but there is an English class each day for older children 1-5. The children are full of love and very respectful of all teachers. There is plenty of support for volunteers including organized social activities. Accommodations are comfortable and scooter rental is available. Uttaradit is an authentic Thai small city (no tourism) bordering the hill country where you can experience the everyday life of normal folks.

Volunteering here was a great experience. The children are so welcoming and loving, with lots of energy to learn and play. I miss them already and hope to see them again!
