Organic Farm And Teaching Program
Organic farming volunteering? We are in need of volunteers for our community. We prefer volunteers who are willing to work, teach and show our children and community the good way how to make organic farm in order to save our environment. Teaching other subjects to the children, teach adults English lesson, coach our foot ball club. We're flexible in what you chose to do.In the afternoons volunteers run a program called “English Corner” where they teach English classes to local people. The program serves the local community, helping adults to improve their English skills. Many strive to learn English in order to have better job opportunities in the future.
Free-time activities
A trip to Tanzania is the chance to experience life in the heart of Africa. There’s plenty to see and do here during your free time on your project.
A project in Tanzania wouldn’t be complete without a safari! This is a chance to see the beautiful wildlife of this country, like elephants, rhinos, and lions.
What’s more, Tanzania is home to the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. Hiking around the base through lush vegetation is a peaceful way to spend an afternoon.
Browsing through a vibrant, local market is a must while you’re there. You can also spend time in a Maasai village, getting to know a completely different way of life.
There will likely be many other volunteers in Tanzania with you. This means you have the option to explore the country independently or with a group of like-minded volunteers from different projects.
Accommodation
Volunteers in Tanzania are accommodated in a Host family. Volunteers will have their own room or share a room with 1 to 2 other volunteers of the same gender, depending on availability. Living is basic but the homestays have running water and electricity.
However it is important to note that there are often power outages which affect availability of hot water and power. Bedding is provided, however you will need to bring your own towel and toiletries. It is also recommended to bring a sleeping bag for weekends away. You will have access to a bathroom either private or Public.
Food & Beverages
Food (breakfast and dinner) is provided from Monday to Friday. The breakfast includes tea, white bread, butter, jam, peanutbutter and an african special of the day like Mandazi or cooked banana. Our host family cooks delicious typical tanzania dinner for you e.g. rice with beans or chapati.
During the weekends volunteers can use the kitchen for cooking or eat in one of the several restaurants in and around Arusha.
Volunteers have to pay $15 per day to cover for Accommodation, Food, Electricity + Gas + water, Application fees and Security.
We are a very young dynamic organization based in Kioga Arusha. Our aim is to bring people from different backgrounds together to build a quality education system for children in primary schools all around Arusha. We believe that through education we can build a brighter future for our next generation.
