OMAH OWAH

We are building a space where kindness becomes action, where culture becomes inspiration, and where every person, regardless of background, becomes part of a shared mission: to create a more conscious, compassionate, and sustainable world.

Volunteering here means:
✨ Being part of a growing movement of positive change
✨ Immersing in Javanese culture, ancestral wisdom, and village life
✨ Contributing to a free alternative school for children
✨ Helping preserve art, tradition, and local identity
✨ Supporting the dream of an eco-village built in harmony with nature
✨ Living close to mountains, rice fields, and natural springs
✨ Finding community, clarity, and purpose

You don’t need to be perfect to join us :) just open-hearted, curious, and willing to grow.

If you are seeking a place where your time creates real impact, where your presence matters, and where you can reconnect with the deeper rhythm of life.. then Omah Owah is for you.

We are a small, heart-centered team who dedicate our daily life to building a space for growth, healing, and cultural regeneration. Everything we do is rooted in sincerity, respect, and the belief that every person carries a unique light and story worth honoring. At Omah Owah, volunteers are not treated as workers. They are treated as family, as fellow travelers on the path of becoming. We walk together, learn together, laugh together, and care for each other. You can expect: • Warmth & Kindness We welcome you the way Javanese families welcome guests: with open hands and open hearts. • Guidance & Collaboration You won’t be left alone. We will guide you through each activity, share stories, and create together as a team. • Respect for Your Pace Each person learns and contributes differently. We embrace that. • Community Living We cook together, meditate together, create art together, and sit in circle to share our thoughts & feelings. • Safe Space A place where you can be yourself without judgment, where honesty and vulnerability are welcomed. Our “staff” is not a staff, it is our family, our friends, the neighbor, the children we teach, the artists we collaborate with, and the volunteers who choose to walk with us. If you come with sincerity and curiosity, you will be treated with dignity, care, and the kind of warmth that can only grow in a home built from love, culture, and collective spirit. This is Omah Owah — a home for change, a home for becoming.

I felt welcomed and introduced to all the locals, the members of their community. Ami and the others showed me around and I got to meet a lot of people, had great conversations and really got to experience how the locals live! Thank you Omah Owah!!

Hard to put my time spent with OMAH OWAH into just a few words. One of my absolute best volunteer experiences! Their main priority is cultural exchange, if you are looking for an authentic local Indonesian experience this is the perfect place. Each volunteer who comes has a different experience. I happen to be here for their annual event and spent my time living in a small village with a family and helping the locals prepare for this event. They have a holistic approach and spent a lot of time meditating and connecting with nature. Come with an open and flexible mindset :)
I hope to be back!
