Ocean nomads hostel

Because it’s more than just a place to stay — it’s a lifestyle. Nestled in sunny Los Cristianos, Tenerife, our hostel offers a unique mix of beach vibes, international connections, and creative energy. 🌴🌊

As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a tight-knit team where your ideas matter and your personality shines. Whether you're helping with daily tasks, co-creating events, or contributing to social media, your input helps shape the atmosphere here.

💛 Perks? Of course: – Just steps from the beach 🏖️
– Daily sunsets and good vibes 🌅
– A coworking space full of digital nomads, creatives, and travelers from all over the world 💻🌍
– Plenty of free time to surf, explore, dive, hike, or just chill
– A community that feels like family

You won’t just volunteer here — you’ll grow, connect, and maybe even stay longer than planned (it happens more than you’d think 😉).

We’re a small, passionate team that believes a hostel should feel like home . Our team is a mix of locals, long-time travelers, and creative souls who genuinely love what we do. You’ll find us organizing beach cleanups one day and dancing barefoot under the stars the next 💃🌴 As for how volunteers are treated? Like family. We know that great energy comes from people who feel seen, valued, and supported. That’s why we take the time to get to know each volunteer personally, listen to their ideas, and make sure the experience is fun, balanced, and meaningful. ✨ Volunteers here can expect: – Clear communication and fair schedules – A supportive, positive environment – A chance to contribute in creative ways (not just cleaning!) – Lots of shared meals, laughter, and unforgettable moments – Freedom to explore the island, rest, and grow We don’t just “use” volunteers — we build with them. Many of our best ideas, most epic nights, and strongest friendships have come from the amazing people who joined our team along the way ❤️

I am truly grateful for my time at Ocean Nomads. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and full of good energy from both the staff and travelers. The space itself felt like a home away from home.

I especially appreciated the little details: the shared dinners, the community spirit, and how easy it was to meet people and share stories. It's clear that a lot of heart goes into making this place more than just a hostel, it's a true community.

Thank you for making my stay so memorable. I’ll definitely be back!

My time at Ocean Nomad was great! Amazing and lovely staff, great vibe btw guests and volunteers. Mostly the people made the experience, felt at home with them. Would have love to stay longer if I hadn’t had plans afterwards. Work is quite easy and sometimes way less than the hours expected, that’s why you’re ask to organise and activity for the guest at least once per week.

It was an amazing experience, although not everything was going well. But that's part of the process. I loved the stay, the team is wonderful and the people I met are going to be friends for life. It was an good first volunteering experience and I'm thankful for all the great people I was able to meet. I'm definitely coming to Tenerife and this hostel again. 🐱❤️

The entire team at Ocean Nomad Hostel was exceptional, both volunteers and managers.

Shifts were 7am-12pm, 8am-1pm, and occasionally 4-9pm (reception).
7am shift was cleaning both bathrooms, sweeping/mopping all floors, terrace, and any odd jobs.
8am was cleaning the kitchen, bins, and an odd job here and there.
Both morning shifts then made beds from 11-1pm.
Schedule would be 4 or 5 morning shifts per week with 1-2 activities in the afternoons was often closer to 30 hours.

Unfortunately no free surfing, no AC or curtains in the room and laundry is 5€ but overall good experience!

I loved my stay at Ocean Nomads. Sabela and Matteus are good people that continuously checked in with me throughout my stay. The location was beautiful, and my fellow volunteers were great also. Our dorm could’ve done with air conditioning and perhaps some free amenities such as laundry and the surf lessons which were advertised as free on Worldpackers. However I wouldn’t let this put someone off volunteering here. I met great people, got to visit gorgeous places and felt myself become a more social and connected individual.
