Nirvana Organic Farm & Inn

1. Located in the southwest of China, we are in one of the most traditional villages in the country, Dahebei of Xingping Town, Yangshuo County. Come and discover the Karst landscapes of the Li River!
2. We are one of China's most important permaculture training bases, providing in-depth permaculture practices and profound connections with natural farming.
3. Surrounded by abundant natural resources, the area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Our offers include hiking, rock climbing, caving, etc.

We are a family of three. I am Leo, aged 48, my wife Snow, aged 51, and our daughter Miaomiao, who will soon turn 11. On April 3rd, 2023, we set off from Guilin and have since been cycling across the Eurasian continent for half a year. Cycling Itinerary: • Laos: April 4 - April 12, 2023 • Thailand: April 12 - April 29, 2023 • Bangladesh: April 29 - May 13, 2023 • Nepal: May 13 - June 13, 2023 • Iran: June 13 - July 29, 2023 • Turkey: July 29 - August 27, 2023 • Bosnia and Herzegovina: August 27 - September 6, 2023 • Montenegro: September 6 - September 22, 2023 • Albania: September 22 - October 20, 2023 To date, we've covered a distance of 1,800km by cycling and have used public transportation for the remaining parts of our journey. You can witness our adventures on our YouTube channel, "ElsaExploringWorld." I am a nature educator with a decade of experience. I was fortunate to study nature education under the guidance of Joseph Bharat Cornell at SharingNature.com. In Guilin, I run a nature school where, over the past ten years, I've led more than 5,000 children into the embrace of nature. Additionally, I am a qualified climbing guide endorsed by the Chinese Mountaineering Association. This six-month cycling journey with my family was inspired by our desire to deeply connect with nature and the diverse cultures of the world.

My time at Leo’s farm was amazing. At first, it felt unclear — my friend and I were the only volunteers, helping with basic tasks like gardening and cleaning with aunties who didn’t speak English but were kind. After two days, Leo arrived and brought structure and great energy. He’s incredibly charismatic and made us feel welcome. Later, a group of students our age joined, and even on quiet days with little to do, it still felt meaningful. The atmosphere, people, and nature made it one of the most beautiful and special places I’ve ever been.

Omry and Yoav are really nice guys. Because Snow and I have already been Israel so we have lots of topic about the nature, culture food and people. We had the nature camp at that time while they two provided lots of help. They also really enjoyed the outdoor activities such as rock climbing and exploring the cave and so on. Thank you for you two all the help provided. Best wishes.

Me and my friend arrived at the farm at the start of our journey in China. The team and other worldpackers were very warm and welcoming. The farm is also used as a hotel and we hosted a group of students from Beijing. We helped as guides for rock climbing and caving and had an absolute pleasure with them. Farming can be a little confusing because only the owner knows good English, but you get used to the hand gestures. The hours are really flexible so you should be prepared. Overall best experience I could ask for as a first volunteering job. Highly recommended!

I had spent about 10 days at Nirvana! It was such a fun, and peaceful time. I got there at the end of the kids camp and had a chances to do outdoor activities with kids. Then I had the whole 7 days helping aunties around the place such as cleaning guest rooms and gardening. Aunties couldn't speak english and to be honest, I got in shocked with the language barrier and caused me a day to adapt to it. At the bottom line, we just tried to understand each other and translator app worked well. 3 meals a days was beyond great. I haven't felt hungry even second. Accommodation was good. 謝謝!

Such a fulfilling and wonderful experience when there are children staying at the inn, there are hikes with the guests that are sensational and hidden gems. The mountainous area of the farm is vast and beautiful! It is so lovely to be able to engage with the activities and be a part of the guests’ stay. The aunties cooking is the best food I’ve ever had. Sticky rice !! 😍😍😍Note that during your stay you are mostly asked to do housekeeping, and these hours can become a little unclear.

I really enjoyed my time at Nirvana Organic Farm. The location is very peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by nature and mountains. The work varies a bit day to day, from working in the garden to assisting with various tasks around the house or helping out with guests. Communication was a bit challenging at times, and there were moments when I wasn’t totally sure what needed to be done. But everyone was kind and patient, and I always felt welcomed and included. It was a meaningful experience overall that I am very grateful for.
