I'm used to rough living but the living conditions were not great. Restroom options are walk 20 minutes on low tide to a campervan park or a portable toilet on the deck with no walls for privacy. There is no tender incase of emergency in high tide. The host told to lie about my stay to authorities if asked, so watch out for legal issues. I ended up leaving early after being asked to do a task through shark infested water. I was stopped by multiple different locals who told me the task was super dangerous. Dave is a nice guy but might have different standards of working and living conditions.

SPOILED CHILDREN on Mummy's $ shouldn't leave home without BABYSITTERS! Stay stuck to ur phone! A virtual world isn't dangerous to ur person! (Only ur FEEBLE MIND!) Are u really so shocked to learn sharks live in the ocean? But the tall tales u tell would easily be justified with PICS, which u would've taken as you're ALWAYS stuck to a phone!

I had one of the most memorable journeys with Dave in Hervey Bay. He is generous, caring and supportive. From the warm BBQ welcome in Burrum Heads to the amazing days on the yacht Moon River, everything felt like stepping into a dream. Waking up with sunshine, waves and peaceful nights was unforgettable. Life on board may feel different from city life, but it’s truly worth embracing for an adventurous spirit. Dave also taught me kayaking, fishing and catching yabbies—an incredible experience I highly recommend!

Many people dream of living on a boat, I think this is great opportunity to do so, with many boats and projects to help on you can learn a lot about boat life and all it takes on the river (currently) hopefully ocean soon! Dave is a great guy and has a true passion for trying to accomplish his dreams and has tons of great interests to help learn. He's a good guy to share a rum with over a barbecue and have a great conversation with. Thank you Dave for the experience and we will see each other again!

Staying on Moon River in Burrum Heads was an amazing experience. Dave is really kind and welcoming, working with him on the boats is fun and educational. It's a great and peaceful place to relaxe, surrounded by beautiful nature. In my free time I got to explore the little town, beautiful beaches, go kayaking and watch stunning sunsets. Dave, thank you for hosting me and I wish you all the best for your future, hope to be back one day!

We stayed just one night on Dave’s yacht, but it was truly memorable! He welcomed us with delicious pork BBQ and homemade rum — a fun evening of laughs and great stories. Dave is a generous, funny host. We helped tidy up the boat for the next guests and loved the peaceful, nature-filled setting shaped by the tides. Sadly, we had to leave early due to Mari’s allergic reaction to midges. Thanks, Dave, and best wishes for your future adventures!
