Moby Dick Lodge
Moby Dick Lodge is located in the beautiful Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and wild beaches, but still close enough to Lisboa and Cascais.
We want you to feel at home and care about this place the same way we do! This is a family business and we work with friends and family mostly, in a young and relaxed, but very dinamic atmosphere.

I absolutely loved my time at Moby Dick 🐋💛 I fell in love with surfing, the work was super easy-going & it was way too easy to romanticise life here in Colares. Such a beautiful place - the nature, the sunsets, the vibes ✨ Pedro was great host, the people were amazing & the volunteers felt like family. Truly a special experience… I can’t wait to come back 🌊🌅

The nature is amazing for hiking and it was fun to Surf and meet new people. I enjoyed the ocean and Surf lessons. However the Room for the Volunteers needs to be renovated as it was very Humid and the bathroom ( which is Only separated by a curtain) was disgusting. The work load was okay and the Tasks easy, but the working Hours are sometimes more than agreed when there are group dinners. There were some misunderstandings with the host and I didn‘t feel very comfortable and respected, but I am shure that you can have a Great time at the Lodge especially in Summer.

My experience at Moby dick was beautiful because i met so many people and i learned how to surf! Mariana and Pedro are lovely and kind and Mariana is very available to accommodate the volunteers’ requests. The most beautiful thing is the nature around the lodge and all the beaches! At the same time i think that the accommodation is not so fair, especially the bathroom in our room definitely needs updating. The work is easy but should be more communication and organization. I still have wonderful memories about this experience and im grateful for all the people that i met, até já! 🥰

To stay here was an amazing and giving volunteer experience. It’s a great place to meet new travellers and become very close with the other volunteers, making them feel like a family. The surf instructors are lovely and I had the chance to surf every day!! Mariana and Pedro are lovely, and are always talkative! However, I do think changes to the volunteer accomodation need to be made, improvements to the bathroom situation should be a priority (lack of privacy) and some more accessibility about guest bookings. Overall 10/10 and you’ll find yourself fitting in from day 1. Thank you!!
