Mi kcao chocolates y café
Our rooftop location is one of the best in Arequipa. We have a chocolate factory and a coffee roastery. We can share with you our knowledge of sustainable practices and the world of Peruvian cocoa and coffee.
Volunteers have the freedom to choose how they want to contribute and express what they know. Potential areas include social media, marketing, photography, content creation, art, and language exchange. This experience would only ask for four or five days per week and would include room, food, drinks and the opportunity to learn about coffee, chocolate and healthy products.

I had a great time with Sauro and Elmer! I coordinated with Elmer when to meet at the cafe and together we came up with ideas for content. I’d spend some hours at the cafe to record and edit content.
They are both great people! And gave me good recommendations on things to do/see/eat and connected me with tour guides for a discount.
I’d definitely recommend volunteering at Mi Kcao! I’m sad I didn’t stay longer!

I loved my time at Mi Kcao! I originally thought I would stay for 1 week, but stayed 2 weeks. The hosts (Sauro & Elmer) are so kind and welcoming! I helped with social media & serving. Sometimes it was a bit hard to make videos if the staff working didn’t want to be in them, but the staff is so kind as well (just a little camera shy)! Would recommend this experience, it’s not stressful and you have time to explore Arequipa. Also the coffee & chocolate is so yummy, a nice perk!

I love being here and working. The owner is the nicest greatest person ever, he helped me for many things and made here for me like home..I would definitely recommend to experience here.. Volunteering at MI K’CAO was an incredible experience! Sauro is an amazing host who goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, comfortable, and truly at home. He shares not only the café but also his passion for Arequipa, Peruvian culture, and food. The work is flexible and very educative. I learned a great deal about cacao and coffee production, from harvesting to preparation, as well as about social media and managing a café. The rooftop view is breathtaking, the team is warm and friendly, and the accommodation is cosy and right in the city center. Highly recommend!
