Massiosare El Hostal

We're a low key hostel in the center of Mexico City (CDMX), and we've been doing this for about 10 years. Our volunteers are a really important part of the hostel, because of the skills you bring, and because you help set the tone for others as well - most of our volunteers are still in contact with us in some way or another and leave feeling like this is their 2nd home in Mexico. The hostel is on the 4th floor (no elevator though :( ) and we have beautiful spacious areas - the rooftop is usually the favorite spot to hang out (not a 360 view, but close to 280). Our staff is cool and most are from CDMX - which means they're really good at helping you figure out what to do + practice SP or ENG.

We try our best to make you feel like you're at home, but also give you independence to live your personal journey in CDMX. Mental health is super important to take care of and because we're such a small staff (~12), we support each other - if needed and comfortable for the person (not overbearing). Generally, we also focus on personal growth and try to work with everyone to at least help a bit in that journey. This also means that the volunteers who have the best experience are also those who are able to independant within the guidelines/plans we provide, and keep communication open. Respect is so important, and you can expect that we'll listen to you and support you in the ways we can, if you're not vibing with your volunteer experience :)

I really enjoyed my experience at Massiosare! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and helpful from day 1, and it was a very nice place to call my home base for my time in Mexico City. The working hours were very relaxed and usually in the morning or at night, so I'd have most of the day to explore/do my own thing. I loved getting to know the other volunteers/staff as well as the guests. This was my first Worldpackers experience and I'd definitely recommend it; there was plenty of opportunity to socialize if you want, but also very chill and relaxing when you need it to be. Gracias Massiosare!!!

Massiosare is a wonderful place to volunteer, I felt so welcomed the whole time (even though my spanish leaves much to be desired)! The work is sociable and usually fun, there is plenty of free time, but most of all the hostel is such a comfortable and friendly environment, it really felt like a home. Can't recommend enough! Made good friends with the other volunteers, they are amazing and so are all the staff :) Muchisimas gracias por una experiencia tan buena y un montón de recuerdos felices!

Def coming back! Muchos besos a todes

I had a wonderful experience at Massiosare. I am so grateful for my first opportunity to teach yoga:) It is a relaxed atmosphere with tasks clearly and fairly assigned. The night shifts aren’t as bad as I’ve heard at other hostels and the work is not difficult or too demanding. I felt I had time to experience the city the way I was looking to, which for me was often leaving for yoga classes and wandering the city solo. Even though I was more solo during my stay Oscar and Cas at reception were always kind and welcoming to me as well as the other volunteers and management. Gracias a todos!

I am truly so sad to be leaving Massiosare, I made the most amazing memories and friends. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, the vibe was like one big family ~ workers, guests and volunteers all hanging out together.
The work was very easy and the schedule was always fair.
I loved the location in Centro, so many great museums and activities within walking distance.
Thank you again Oscar, Cassandra, Alexis, Alex, Esther, Pau, Liz, Sebastian, Patrick, and Phillip. 💖
