Maroc Surf Camp

Our villa is one of the original surf houses in Tamraght, we have a large ocean view terrace and a beautiful yoga shala with ocean & mountain views. We have 13 rooms in our surf camp and we pride ourselves in serving authentic Moroccan dishes every day. You can enjoy the use of our yoga shala and surf equipment during free time.
We are looking for enthusiastic, friendly individuals who are able to volunteer with us and that can help us make positive changes in our surf camp.

We are a small family that runs a Surf and Yoga Camp located in the beautiful Berber village of Tamraght, Morocco. There are four of us, Clara, our guide in this new digital world, Mina, our amazing chef, and myself, Dalil. We also have two dogs that we have rescued from the streets, Chakra & Ripper. We are all animated by the same passion to meet people from all horizons and share our beautiful culture with our guests. We strive to treat our family and team with respect and willingness to learn new things everyday!

I arrived at Maroc Surf Camp excited to delve into a new experience, and feel like part of a team. Unfortunately, the experience I had hoped for was not reflected in reality and I quickly became very miserable at the camp.
I left this position early, along with two others who also ended up leaving early (after me).
I felt there was no sense of respect, kind communication, or appreciation towards the volunteers- the ‘volunteer’ position was, in essence, a full time, unpaid job. The environment was extremely tense, stressful, and unfriendly, we were treated as staff.

The place is truly beautiful and the owners, as well as the team (especially Valérie), are very kind. I’m grateful for the experience. However, future volunteers should know that the new management style has changed the atmosphere: communication can be difficult, support is limited, and the workload sometimes feels closer to a job than a cultural exchange. Activities aren’t always accessible, and several volunteers struggled with this. With better management, this would be an amazing experience.

My six-week stay at Maroc Surf Camp was very positive. I joined many surf and yoga sessions, visited Imsouane and Paradise Valley, and explored Tamraght. I learned a lot about local culture, especially from the welcoming kitchen staff. The camp is well-organized, and clear checklists made shifts manageable, though busy weeks meant longer hours. Recent team changes caused some communication challenges, and cultural differences (especially around gender roles) were noticeable. Overall, it was a meaningful and enriching experience.

Maroc Surf Camp is located in Tamraght in a really nice and calm house. As volunteers, we had our own bathroom and plenty of space. There was quite a lot to do, but feedback was always welcomed, and we received a lot in return. Unfortunately, I had to end my stay early due to a surf skate accident. However, Dalil took great care of me and even accompanied me to the hospital. A huge thank-you again! The food was super delicious, and I’d love to come back again at some point ☺️🙏🇲🇦!

I loved my time at Maroc Surf Camp! The team is super warm and welcoming from the jump and the accomodation, food, surf and yoga is all incredible! It’s a well organised job and the hours aren’t too long, you get a lot in return for the work. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to learn more about Moroccan culture and to explore the town of Tamraght. I will miss the whole team!!
