Malta hostel in Malta

We’re looking for motivated and reliable helpers who are eager to contribute and be part of a positive, collaborative environment alongside our current team. If you enjoy working with others, taking initiative, and being hands-on, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note: this opportunity is best suited for those who are focused, proactive, and not easily distracted — especially by phones or negativity. We're building a team based on respect, effort, and shared goals

We have 3 small hostels in total, in Gzira(7 bed hotel in place), Gozo (3 bed rooms hotel Bed and Breakfast with pool) and Airport (6 bed rooms hotel only place with chill area, bicycle and desk ). We help people who are doing the trekking route in Gozo for free as part of social responsibility as well other social cases. You will be given 80 Euros to 100 Euros per month to take care of your breakfast costs. We usually working 20 hours per week, 10 am to 2pm with 2 days OFF per week. You will be deciding your own schedule with other helpers. Every month we organise dinner together in one of the places in accordance with other helpers. Work consists of Cleaning, some time cooking, some times painting or simple Do It Yourself (DIY). In this opportunity, you need to be flexible and able to think to solve issues that might arise. Apart of the normal schedule that is explained above we have an opportunity for a Night emergency phone holder in that case you keep the phone 24/7 and do only 10 hours of cleaning, so let me know if this something you will be interested more. In the past we had some issues with helpers, who are not interested to work, or just pretend they are in a 5 star accommodation. At this stage we can not guarantee to have owner and helper interactions since we have 3 accommodations. At this stage we want helpers to be happy to work with other helpers in creating a nice experience. If you are not able to do so, and not able to organise yourself and others without the owner telling you what to do, then you do not need to apply. We do not distinguish between employee and helper, they both need to be responsible and able to do the task in time. If you want a free holiday or to take it easy we might not be the right choice. If you do like what we do and you seem that we can work then here are some extra Questions: 1. What level of English from 1- 10 , 10 means perfect, 1 means English is very basic? 2. Which passport do you intend to enter Malta with? 3.What kind of visa do you currently use to enter and help us?(we do not offer any visa support) 4. How long maximum can you stay? 5. Any references that you had? We do not offer a language exchange and we are not interested to be best friends ever. Do your 20 hours of work and we will be happy. Simple

Before arriving at the location, I already had a clear understanding of how the work would work, as I was provided with a protocol that included the rules, duties, and our rights.
The host followed through, which was positive.
Unfortunately, the volunteering experience didn't work out due to disagreements within the team. I decided to leave and find another volunteer position.

A huge thank you to Franco, an intelligent, generous, and goal-oriented host. My stay in Gozo was truly enriching — I not only enjoyed the experience but also learned so much about leadership and management through his valuable tips and advice. The accommodation was excellent, complete with a beautiful swimming pool, and the location made it easy to explore stunning beaches like Xlendi and Hondoq. Nothing beats a picnic there with local favorites like pastizzi, ftira, and the island’s famous fizzy drink, Kinnie. I’d love to return one day!

I had such a great time volunteering in Gozo! The house is really cozy and the work is super easy, just cleaning rooms and common areas, never more than 4 hours. What I loved the most is that we always worked in groups, which made everything lighter and fun. I also really enjoyed sharing this experience with other the volunteers, we had a great time together! The host, Franco, is very kind and always ready to help if you need anything, and he’s also generous giving us pocket money for food expenses. The island is small but has amazing beaches and it’s easy to get around.
