Very bad experience. The workload was extremely high, often like doing the work of 3–4 people. We were made to work around 35 hours a week with no proper balance in shifts. Early morning shifts followed by late nights caused serious sleep deprivation, with only one day off, making it impossible to rest or plan anything.

The host was rude and unprofessional. Even after working hard, being flexible, and covering shifts for 3 weeks, when I tried to talk and raise my concerns respectfully, I was asked to leave immediately, even though I had nowhere else to stay.
I do not recommend this place.

My time at this hostel has to be one of the best experiences I have, meeting a lot of people, creating connections and learning new things, there's a lot of thing to do in the city and the people here is amazing

I loved staying and working at London Backpackers!! It’s a great place to volunteer, the staff and other volunteers were truly amazing, and I’d love to come back anytime. It was my first volunteering experience, and it turned out even better than I expected. The working hours were as agreed, and the family dinners on Wednesdays and Fridays make this place really special. Thank you for everything!

The tasks are manageable and the working hours are respected. The team is welcoming and you get to have a lot of fun conversations with staff/guests! Unfortunately, I had to end my stay early, because some details didn't work for me: There's mandatory dinners (+going out after) with the guests every Wed. and Fri. It's fun but I only got that info on my first day there. The volunteer room is tiny with only a small window to the corridor, a wobbly bed and what seems like moldy spots on the walls. Hopefully, some changes will be made in this regard bc it would've been a great stay otherwise!
