Loksa Paradise

Volunteers often come to Estonia because this tiny country feels intriguing and off the usual travel routes. And more often than not, they end up getting much more than they expected! Estonia is a place that attracts those looking for open spaces, peace, and untouched wilderness, while still offering the chance to explore an ancient culture that has held onto its roots despite centuries of foreign rule.

This country is fascinating—it was one of the last nations in Europe to be forced into Christianity, it speaks a language completely different from most European tongues, and it prides itself on being deeply connected to nature while also being incredibly smart and forward-thinking when it comes to technology.

Tallinn, less than an hour away by car or a little over an hour by bus, is a vibrant and welcoming city, especially in summer! This year marks 500 years since the first Estonian-language book was printed, so the city will be full of literary events and celebrations.

Our home is right in the heart of Lahemaa National Park, surrounded by breathtaking forest trails, mysterious bogs, scenic observation towers, and countless beaches—each with its own charm. There are also cultural attractions nearby, from ancient fishing villages to hidden natural gems waiting to be explored.

Our town is perfectly situated in the center of the park, close to the sea, and well connected by bus. But if you want to explore more freely, we’re happy to lend you a car or a bike!

Volunteering at our place should be a pleasant and relaxing experience. We’re not demanding—our main goal is to create a friendly and easygoing atmosphere where you can feel at home. It’s simply an exchange: we offer you a place to stay, and in return, you help out a little with general tasks.

We’d love for you to feel comfortable, take time to explore the surroundings, and enjoy your stay while also giving us a hand with the house, garden, and other small projects in an independent and flexible way. More than anything, we hope to build a warm and friendly connection! 😊🏡🌿✨

We’re an expat couple who left the city to create a home where we could have a garden, a bigger house, and space to welcome family, friends, and exciting projects. We share our home with our friendly dog and our lively 2-year-old, who keeps us on our toes! 😊 Our town is nestled in the heart of Lahemaa National Park, one of Estonia’s most famous nature spots. It’s small but has everything needed for daily life—supermarkets, buses, schools, doctors, and a community space for events. That’s why we chose to live here! Plus, the beach is just a 15-minute walk away—beautiful, sandy, and with shallow waters that sometimes feel like a scene from Interstellar—you walk and walk, but the water never gets deeper! 🌊 We wanted a garden to reconnect with nature, eat healthier, and learn how to grow our own food. In the future, we dream of having more land and involving the local community in cultivating together and sharing produce. We’d also love to bring more cultural events to town! Federico studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Milan, and Lena has been doing improv theater for over three years. A long-term goal would be to open a multipurpose coffee/cultural/garden market space, as there is no public café in town yet. But we’ve realized that making all these projects happen is impossible without a little extra help! That’s why we’ve decided to open our home to travellers. Federico has travelled extensively and has been hosted all over Europe, so we’ve always seen our house as a place full of movement and connection. With three extra bedrooms, it has always been a welcoming space for guests, and we’d love to continue that tradition!

This was my first trip through Worldpackers and honestly I couldn’t have picked a better stay. From the very beginning they were very friendly and welcomed me immediately. They have a beautiful house and a wonderful family that I’m glad I got to know. The accommodations were great and the work was pretty easy. They live in a cute town that I loved exploring and I’m grateful to have experienced their culture with them.

Staying with this family was a memorable experience, I got to experience three cultures merged succinctly into one - Italian, Ukrainian and Estonian. From the very first moment they welcomed me into their home like one of their own and made feel like I belonged there. I have absolutely no complaints/ regrets about this experience and recommend it to everyone who wishes to experience multicultural rural Estonia. Their kindness, compassion and generosity was second to none!

The peaceful countryside was a breath of fresh air which offered the perfect blend of nature and serenity.
