La Toma Del Agua

Are you an English speaker or native? Do you like being surrounded by nature? Would you like to help students from 8 to 16 year-olds to improve their English level?

We are a friendly company that runs immersion camps in English, we are located in an amazing place surrounded by nature. Our camp is situated 8 minutes away by car from Riopar, a village near Albacete (Spain).

These English immersion camps are programs that welcome groups of students from all over Spain. We look after them for five days (from Monday to Friday) and encourage them to improve their English through fun and active classes. This also includes physical outdoor activities, gymkanas and excursions led by bilingual and natives teachers. It’s a really fun place with friendly people, where you won't get bored at all.

We are looking for someone who can help our students, guiding them and helping them to improve their English.
We offer accommodation shared with our lovely team and full board (5 meals).
We can also provide special meals for people that have food alergias, intolarances, vegetarian...and so on.
There are bicycles in which you can use if you want to stroll along the área or even head to town.
We have people who go to town often so you can catch a lift if needed.

Volunteers help for 6 hours a day from Monday to Thursday. Mainly, you will support our team during those moments when we have to control the students in their free time, avoiding potential problems and playing with them while you push them to speak in English as much as possible. Our students are from Spain and they come with the idea to immerse themselves in the English language. In the case where you are present in an activity, your duty would be to support and supervise the students but not run the game. During the weekends you can stay in our facility or travel as you please. Public transport from Riopar is quite poor but most of the weekends some staff goes mainly to Madrid or Murcia and they can give you a lift in case you want to visit different areas of Spain. There are lots of thing you can do nearby during the weekend or even in your free time during the week. We offer access to facilities such us the multi-adventure areas; archery, climbing, zipline…, use of our court, sport materials, lots of trekking with incredible views and of course, you can visit the main attractions in Riopar; Riomundo (the birth of a river) & the old Riopar town, which is on top of a mountain. Our team tends to stay in the facility during the weekends so you can enjoy you time with us also. Normally, we are a team of 12 people. We range from 18 to 35 years olds. As we are in the middle of nature, there is no phone service inside the facility but you can find signal at the entrance. Furthermore, our wifi service is very efficient. There is a tiny river that crosses our facility and three lakes nearby. One is a natural swimming pool with a zipline over it.

My time In La Toma Del Agua was an unforgettable one. I immediately felt welcomed by everyone. It’s truly a social environment that allows you to connect with all kinds of people. Everyone on the team is extremely motivated and each day was set up with a clear vision. I never felt confused or unsure of my tasks but if I was, it was explained to me immediately. I never felt like an outsider here and it’s a shame the time went so fast. If you want a chance to connect with nature and meet a team of kind individuals, with a shared goal to educate children then this is the volunteer position for u

Such an incredible place and a great team! I loved the nature, learned so much, got out of my comfort zone and enjoyed it a lot. If you are energetic, dynamic and already have experience in working with a big group of kids/animation you'll feel even more confident when it comes to work. You'll never feel bored and you'll definitely learn something new about yourself. I'd like to get back to this place at least one more time. LTDA, thank you for everything!

Recomendo 😊

Oh how I wish I could go back. This was my 8th volunteering, but the 1st I could spend weeks, even months, more. I loved the team. I loved the kids. I loved the work, the activities, the dancing. I loved it all. La Toma Del Agua feels like a true hidden gem only a few people get to visit, and I'm grateful to have spend 3 weeks in this amazing place. It will be missed. I will come back. See you later guys :)

I stayed three weeks and loved every second of it!
The team is amazing and welcoming to everyone, the food and care are great and the work is easy and really fun!
During the week you can enjoy the work and surroundings in beautiful nature and in the weekend go to the small city or on a nice hike. If you like working with children I would defiantly recommend this to you!!
