Kadampa Meditation Centre Aberdeen
Our Buddhist centre in Aberdeen welcomes people from all over the world. As a volunteer you will be part of the team whose focus it is to provide the conditions for people to come and relax, enjoy inner peace and learn how to make themselves and others truly happy.
Working on average 6 hours a day 5 days a week in a varied role gives you plenty of opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings that North Scotland has to offer. Ranging from long sandy beaches, to gorgeous mountains and expansive forests as well as a vibrant city life.
You will also get the opportunity to experience life in a working Buddhist centre and to join classes free of charge, in your spare time.
We are a small but vibrant centre and so the volunteering is very varied and help is needed in areas such as cafe, maintenance, design, admin, household, cooking, cleaning, reception, and out and about with publicity throughout the city and surrounding areas. Depending on when you come you may be able to join in with one of our retreats by the sea or take a trip up to the Highlands.
We offer a generous food allowance for your stay and invite you to join us for meals on a regular basis.
We do ask that all our volunteers follow some basic principles of living within a Buddhist community.
Namely: not to drink alcohol, take drugs, smoke, vape or eat meat / fish on the premises.
We also ask you not to play musical intruments, to use headphones if listening to audio and to invite no overnight guests.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to learn new skills, have fun, make new friends and make a difference! We look forward to welcoming you at our centre.
