Little Japan is a really nice place. Asakusabashi is probably one of the best zones in Tokyo, it is a quiet and peaceful place while also being in the center of Tokyo.

The best part would be meeting othe staff, they were very friendly, funny and welcoming!

If you are a guy you are going to sleep in the 5th floor of the hostel, a small room with four beds that feels a bit small and dirty, the whole hostel is a bit dusty.

The work is nice and not too demanding, if you do a good job and work fast you will probably finish earlier!

Having food is the winning point of this hostel!

I had a great time at Little Japan. Location is perfect, I met some cool people, the food/drinks was also a pro. The sharehouse (which contains a women-only dorm) is about a 10 minute walk away. Staff consists of ~4 international and ~10 Japanese volunteers

For cleaning staff, the hours are either 9-3 or 10-1, and it is a lot if you do it properly. Some of the staff members like to do things together on their days/evenings off, so it’s nice because you can make some friends.

It’s a little difficult if you’re vegetarian, the pre cooked meals contain meat.

I had an amazing time at Little Japan! The work was fair and well structured. The meals included are the same everyday but good. The other volunteers and the location definitely made this an experience I won’t forget!

The good:
Prime location in the cultural heart of old Tokyo. You are within walking distance to Ueno park and Senso-ji, places rich in history and culture. At the same time Akihabara is just around the corner if you crave some of that Japanese pop culture.
The food and drinks included were great and it was a welcome change compared to other hosts. The volunteers and some of the Japanese staff were amazing. I miss them.
The not so good:
If you’re a man you will sleep in the staff dorm and it’s not cozy.
The other half of the Japanese staff was not nice.
The job is intense if done well.

I had an amazing time at Little Japan!
The work was super easy to learn, and the manager and team were always really patient and helpful. The atmosphere at the hostel was welcoming, with both Japanese staff and international volunteers.

The sharehouse was comfortable and had everything I needed, plus the location is perfect for exploring Tokyo!

I’m really grateful for the experience and all the great people I met. Thank you Sato-san and everyone at Little Japan, I will see you again!✨️
