Home Of love Siem Reap Province Cambodia

It is important for the children of Siem Reap to experience a cultural exchange with volunteers from around the world. When you volunteer at the New Life Center, you will contribute to the global knowledge of our students.

We are a local NGO with four projects: education, health care, meal preparation, and community development. Volunteers will support teachers in the classroom Monday through Friday. Volunteers may choose to go to the village on Saturdays to assist with the health care program. You will be given breakfast and lunch or you can use the kitchen to cook for yourself. Coffee, tea, and fruit is always available. You will share a room for sleeping. On Saturdays, our staff offers guided tours of the attractions in Siem Reap and nearby villages.

Teaching here was such an amazing experience and Paul and Sar couldn’t have been nicer. This school will hold a special place in my heart as it really made my travelling experience even better. Teaching children English here was just as educational for them as it was for me. It helped expand my knowledge and teaching capabilities, as well as really showing me what schools are like in Cambodia and the children’s way of living. Accommodation was basic but absolutely lovely with some of the locals cooking us breakfast and lunch sitting together eating which was just a wonderful experience.

This experience is truly life changing. We loved staying at Paul’s school. He and his wife are really welcoming. Also the teachers and the kids are so great and kind. We will definitely come back and are really sad to leave!! I would recommend it to anyone, even if you are not very confident in speaking, you don’t need to have a lot of skills - so don’t be scared!! This was the highlight of my trip. Thank you for everything🄰

This was our first volunteering experience and we will forever be grateful for it. We helped teaching children English in a local school in Siem Reap. The host and all the teachers, as well as the children were all really welcoming and nice to us.

Firstly, the experience working with the children and teachers was incredible and it was amazing to be able to volunteer here. As a whole it was a great opportunity to delve into the authentic Cambodian culture and engage with the community. However I feel that our time here could have been slightly better. For example, a more welcoming approach from the family hosting us, a better description of the accommodation facilities as 2 out of the 3 bathrooms were unusable and the 3rd did not flush and better indication of lesson plan structure so that we could’ve been more prepared.

I want to start by speaking highly of the school. The children, teachers and the school itself were amazing. At the end of the experience, the children wrote lovely notes of appreciation, which was such a heartwarming gesture. Main nightlight: Family night dinner on Saturday. However, I think the Accommodation should be better reflected in the ad. 2/3 toilets were out of service, another didn’t flush. Also the matress and sheets on the floor were very dirty. I believe that more involvement from the family and a deeper focus on Cambodia's history would have improved our experience by a mile!
