My name is Sambir Tamang. I live in Beautiful city Bhaktapur Nepal with my wife, Sita Tamang, and our two children, Dechen and Densang. We are a Christian family, guided by the teaching "Love your neighbor as yourself." I serve in the Nepal Army, and my wife works as an administrative staff member in a hospital. We are a warm-hearted family living in beautiful Bhaktapur 🌄 The after-school program happens in our home — where we open our doors and hearts to children and volunteers alike ❤️ We live by: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 💬 You’ll be part of our daily rhythm, share meals 🍛, stories 📖, and laughter 😄. We treat every volunteer as part of the family — with respect, trust, and gratitude 🙏

What can I say? I had the most unique experience of any volunteer during the big protests againts the Nepali goverment. Sita and her family were super welcoming and very caring that nothing happend to me. Sita does great work with the kids and if you're looking to make a real impact and also explore Bhaktapur and Kathmandu I really think this is the place for you. My only recommendation is to bring ear plugs because of the dogs that bark at night. Wishing all the best to Sita and Sambir and their wonderful family, I cant thank you guys enough!!!😋🙏

I really enjoyed my stay there and felt welcomed by the family. For a few days I was visiting the kindergarten close by for a couple of hours - playing and talking with kids. In the early evening we had an after school program, were we helped the children with their homework or painted, if there were no homework.
I shared good conversation and a lovely time with Sita, Sambir and their family and their two adorable kids!
They provided me with my own room and delicious food!
I can only recommend this opportunity and wish you good luck with your after school project!

Sambir and Sita welcomed me as a member of their family. They are social, kind and open minded. I lived in their family's house with their 2 kids and Sita's parents. I had my own room which was very comfortable.
The project is very clear, and the missions interesting. There were no children after-school when I stayed there because of religious celebrations. I helped with different task and I spent main of my time discovering and learning about people and the culture.
I learnt more about the culture during these few days than during my full trip (almost 1month) in Nepal.
I can recommend 100%.
