Help a little and learn a lot

This is a space for cultural exchange, learning, and personal growth. You'll improve your conversational English, feel safe and welcome, and have time to be yourself. We value real connection, so we’ll chat plenty beforehand to make sure it’s a good fit for both.

Hi, I'm Andy. I enjoy spending time with people who are curious about this strange and wonderful world we live in, people who care about others and want to grow through new experiences. Hosting has taught me a lot, and I continue to learn from the incredible people I meet along the way. I consider myself well-educated and believe life is a constant learning journey. I enjoy music of all kinds, good films, writing, documentaries, and topics like sustainability, psychology, politics, philosophy, history, and technology. I’ve got a good sense of humour and love sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful conversations. I live with my partner Joe, who is a kind, grounded, and experienced traveller. We’re not very traditional and welcome people from all walks of life, just not those who are close-minded, prejudiced or inconsiderate. If you have questions, just ask! I’m always happy to chat and make sure expectations are clear on both sides before anything is confirmed. We treat the people we host with respect, and we expect the same in return. I value honesty, independence, and open communication. This space is best suited to thoughtful, independent, free-thinking people who are here for true cultural exchange and personal growth. If this is new for you, that’s okay, We also travelled and lived abroad when younger. I always reply to messages, and I’m more likely to reach out if it’s clear you’ve read my profile and understand what I’m offering. It’s important to me that your stay feels right for both of us.

Andy is open, warm and incredibly self-transparent. From the very first message/call, he made me feel trusted and welcome. This isn’t a regular Worldpackers’ experience, but one focused on personal growth, emotional connection and real cultural exchange. You aren’t welcomed as a volunteer, but as a helper and friend in order to help and learn together. Besides, I had space for self-discovery and for myself, including a trip to London. We also had deep conversations which I never expected to have. During the time I spent there, we formed a true bond, so I only wish I could have stayed longer.

A Peaceful and Enrich staying
if you’re looking for more personal experience than a hostel or group project is a great choice.
Staying with Andy and Joe felt like being welcome to calm cozy home with amazing food, and grateful thoughtful conversations and a safe and relaxed atmosphere. This area is peaceful and perfect for downtime yet close enough to Sheffield city centre for day trips and meals are provided and delicious and there is a good good balance between time with your hosts and space explore or work in your own project
I’d righty recommend this stay especially for as a first host

Staying with Andy truly felt like home—I was welcomed as a friend from day one. The atmosphere sparks creativity, and there’s always something to do, for yourself or around the house, without feeling overwhelming. Some of the best moments were the days visiting places with Andy and Joe, or the late-night talks about social issues, self-awareness, and life in general. It’s not just a place to be hosted—it’s a second home where you feel truly cared for and loved. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that, if you're open to it, can help you grow and become a better version of yourself.

I stayed here for three months, and it was one of the most unique experiences I’ve had.

Andy is kind, fun-loving, and open-minded, making conversations engaging. His partner, Joe, is more introverted but lovely and thoughtful.

You'll spend most of your time with Andy, joining activities you choose together. During the day, while he works, you'll help with household tasks but are free to plan your own time. It’s a great way to improve your English in a fun setting.

If you're open-minded and seeking a unique experience, this is the perfect place.

It was my first time traveling abroad, and I'm so grateful for this experience! We chatted for months before I arrived, so it felt like home when I got here, even though it was different and better than I’d imagined.

Andy and Joe are amazing friends. Andy has a fantastic sense of humor, is transparent, keeps conversations lively, and I was like his wingman. Joe is genuine and cooks delicious meals!

These months have been truly meaningful. Sheffield has so much to explore, especially if you love nature. You’ll learn about the culture and yourself. Thank you, Andy!
