Finca el Péndulo
Finca El Péndulo is a transformational place, if you are open and available to it.
It is called "El Péndulo" because your experience here will move between an externally beautiful experience and a profound inward journey.
Finca El Péndulo started as a personal project and over time transformed into a space of sharing. It is a place that attracts people from all around the world, where many have planted their seeds which continue to grow here. The energy here is rooted in a place of giving and receiving, learning and creating.
The Finca is abundant in nature, creativity, and natural beauty, where synchronicities happen all the time. We are many things. We are a Holistic center where national and international retreats of various kinds take place regularly—mainly focused on ancestral medicines like ayahuasca, but also yoga, meditation, etc. We also run camps and workshops for children at different times of the year.
We are also a holistic hotel where people come to relax, spend time in nature, meet others, or take a pottery class in our workshop, meditate at the meditation center, or enjoy a special dinner in the glass orchidarium. It is a place of peace and connection.
The vision of Finca El Péndulo is for it to be a place that nourishes everyone who lives here in different ways. In addition to the pottery workshop, we also have an arts workshop, and a carpentry shop, with the idea of creating things together. We are also a ranch with animals and plants that require daily attention. We live with horses, chickens, fish, turtles, dogs, cats, wolves, birds, bees, etc. We also have two greenhouses: one is a glass orchidarium and the other is a large permaculture greenhouse. The entire Finca is surrounded by fruit and non-fruit trees and plants.
Walking through the stables, visiting the chicken coop, spending time with the wolves, or helping in the apiary with the bees are activities you can enjoy during your free time or contribute to as part of your volunteer work.
Finca El Péndulo is still a young project. We have grown organically until a couple of years ago, when overnight the finca began to become a beloved place for many people, especially those coming for our retreats. Now, the demands of the finca have grown. After flowing for so long and simply allowing creativity to guide us, it is now time to bring organization to everything we’ve created so that we can relax and let creativity continue to emerge.
For our team, the main goal at the moment is to strengthen the finca’s processes and systems so that, on one hand, in the organizational area, we continue to work in the clearest (ethical), most practical, and productive way, while on the other hand, we can continue to nurture creativity.
In addition to the people who are part of the volunteer program, there are also people who are permanently residing here, creating the core of the family that extends to the volunteers, workers, guests and beyond.
There is a group of women and men who work in maintenance, laundry, cleaning, reception, construction, animal care, etc. And then there is the community of people who visit us to create events and workshops. All of us work together to make the magic happen.
The most important aspect of this project is, we believe, the freshness and spontaneity with which we create and maintain a space of tranquility and inspiration for both the inhabitants and all the people who visit us. The volunteer program nurtures curiosity about the diversity of thoughts, ideologies, and ways of living that all the people involved in this project bring.
