Experience the culture and language in Kondae

Close to Konkuk and Sejong University. There are a lot of young people in the neighborhood and shops and restaurants are cheaper than any other University areas in Seoul.

I'm Jeong-Yoon, the manager here. I grew up in Europe for some time and speak English as my second language. I am very much used to working with foreigners and I promise to provide a safe place for visitors to make them feel like home :)

The accommodation was okay — you have exactly what you need, nothing fancy but sufficient. Th host is super nice and incredibly welcoming.

The job is really chill, and you also get the opportunity to meet locals, which makes the experience even nicer.

The area, Kondae, is great! There are so many restaurants, karaokes, photobooths, and stores around — it’s a super fun and convenient neighborhood in Seoul.

The food provided is basic (rice, bread, eggs, ramen), but enough to get you through your stay.

I had a great time there :)

I really enjoyed my stay here!
The manager and teachers at the studio were super nice, welcoming me and other new volunteers kindly and always ready to help. The working hours were really relaxed, it was fun talking to the students and exchanging our cultures. Since we were able to plan the working schedule by ourselves, it was easy to plan the week and working didn't interfere with tourist things :)
And yes, the apartment is very small, but if the group works together to keep it clean, it's possible to create a nice living space. Also, the apartment is super close to the studio, which is good!

I loved my time at the studio! Yoon is an amazing host, he makes you feel comfortable instantly & is always there when you need something. I really liked that he organised team dinners which made us all grow closer. The work is super chill so you have plenty of time to explore, but the area where the dorm & studio are located is surrounded by cafés, restaurants and bars so you don’t even have to go far.
The dorm takes a while to get used to. It is pretty small and gets dirty quickly but if everyone does their part it‘ll be fine. Plus you‘ll meet amazing people which will make up for it ^^

This was my first volunteering experience and I cannot recommend it enough! The host Yoon is an wonderful person. He is always willing to help, very communicative and kind, and just super nice overall.
The work itself is also very chill and really pleasant to do, conversations with locals are usually smooth and you learn a lot from them.
The only small downside of the experience is the dorm, being small and overcrowded specially if there's more than 7 people staying at the same time, but you'll get used to it.
In summary, the best volunteering you can do in Seoul. I'm coming back for sure!

This was hands the best experience I've ever had. It was the perfect first volunteering experience for me for a number of reasons. The host Yoon is one of the most kind hearted people you will ever meet and he made me feel comfortable the second I got there. The work itself at the studio is so laid back and so exciting as you get to really connect with all different kinds of people. The work hours are great, leaving you with so much free time to explore the amazing city of Seoul. You may get put off by the accommodation at first but as long as everyone stays clean and communicates its fine:)
