Estate Of Sound

Surrounded by montains and olive fields, beach at only 25km, river 100m to 18km, my place is a very good spot to enjoy nature. The land is also very good to chill with dedicated spots, a sound system at disposal, the gazebo and the outdoor cinema.

I want to warn you that after few bad experiences you have to read clearly the position description and approve it. If you do not fit to the place, to my way to be, I will ask you to leave. I am a nature lover, here is a real countryside life, the confort is good, but it will not be the same as a normal house for sure! I like to enjoy the life as much as possible, I was a rave party organizer, so that means what it means. I also do lot of bike, you can join or we can do other things, I am flexible :)

This was my first worldpacker experience, and I gotta say, I was not disappointed. Aurelien is a very nice guy, Boulette is the cutest cat, the place is really beautiful, we were strongly connected to nature. We work a few hours in the morning (around 3h-3h30) and then we have a lot of cool activities in the afternoon: swimming in the river, going on hikes, to the beach, biking… The work is challenging but not too hard, there was physical work and also a little more artistic work (painting, carving wood…). I would 100% recommend this experience!

This was my first volunteering experience and I had an amazing time! Aurélien is a super funny guy always up for an adventure. Every afternoon after doing little tasks in the morning we would go down to the beach, the river or go on a hike. We also got to visit Peñiscola, Morella and Vinaros which were all super pretty. After dinner we often had a movie night with Aurelien’s handbuilt speakers which felt like an outdoor movie theatre. I really enjoyed my time there and highly recommend this experience!!

This was my first solo trip and I felt so welcomed! Aurel is so kind and made me feel very safe and comfortable. The activities are very fun and I had an incredible experience. Hiking in the mountains, cycling, it was amazing so many beautiful views! I definitely recommend this experience. 😊

I had a great time, despite leaving a bit early (rain). Every morning we’d do some work around the estate, depending on what needed improvement. I soldered a chimney, cut down dead trees, chopped firewood, and built a roof for a fireplace, all in the span of a couple days. With more time you can really improve carpentry and bushcraft skills. After work we got out the emtbs and saw the mountains around the place, was awesome! I’d note that the estate is very remote and there isn’t room for many. if you’re looking to meet many people this might not be the best fit. Very glad I came, thanks!

I went into this experience hoping to learn about sustainability, and new hands on skills. I left very early and was made to feel el uncomfortable to leave a review. However I think it is important for future volunteers.
I give space for the language barrier and cultural differences, but there were some comments and concerns that I felt were uncomfortable and inappropriate and I think some things in the description were misleading, and I was put in unsafe situations. I did learn some new skills, and also what to look for in my next experience, but be sure to ask questions before confirming.

Thanks for this review that will help me to avoid this kind of situation. Yes you have to read the description and be ready to have to do efforts with the host. I did too with you but after few days of grumpy faces every morning and beeing crazy about my way to be I stopped to talk to you of course. I try to explain as much as possible in my description but that comment is a help for me thanks. SO if you read this and are not ready to accept French/European way of life please do not apply!
