English Cafe for Cultural Exchange in Busan

The best place to enjoy your traveling and staying in Korea. Meeting a life of friends from Korea and all of the world. Learning and experiencing everything about Korea.

I started this project, named LanCul (Language and Culture) for foreign travelers to meet Korean friends and learn Korean language and culture as well as Korean English learners to meet foreign friends and talk in English with them. Our community provides warm and lively space to Korean students and volunteers to interact each other. They meet and talk in English about a variety of topics, cultures and ideas. Foreign community members can also share their experience and information with other volunteers from all of the world. I am looking for volunteers who can help Korean members improve their English and help run our community.

I had an amazing experience here🩵

☑️Housing: Fully equipped kitchen. Spacious rooms. Everyone does their part to keep the house clean n comfy. Big thanks to Brandee, who manages us— super attentive, and always makes sure everyone’s needs are met.

Food n entertainment are close by. Schedule given in advance, and weekends are off. Plenty of time to plan your trips.

☑️Shifts: English conversations w students. Levels vary, finding common topics makes time fly;) students are eager to speak. No strict rules, just show up on time.

3 weeks went by too fast 😣💞 Miss all my frds in Busan

I had a very good experience at the language café. I was given a clear schedule for the week, and I worked 3 hours per workday. The work was very easy: the entire purpose is to simply have a conversation with a Korean in English so they can practice their speaking skills. Also, the dormitory that I shared with other volunteers was comfortable, and at a good location as well. Overall I would highly recommend this volunteering position.

Andy is such a sweet host, he was super helpful, always flexible anytime needed, and overall very friendly! I had a great time meeting and talking to people at the café, the students came from a variety of backgrounds and had different levels and different goals. The accomodation is also nice, there were two dorms, one for girls and one mixed, each with their own bathrooms. Overall I had an amazing time in Busan with the other volunteers, I made some great friends and plan to visit again !

I had a good experience in Busan here with many lovely volunteers. The dorms and common areas are fairly cozy. You have some free time during the day to see the delights of Busan and weekends are usually off unless your free days are split. Andy is accommodating to requests that you may have. I quite liked the location of the dorm as it was near the bustling University and also close to Gwangali Beach and coastal walks. All in all great stay.

Busan is a beautiful city, there is so much to see and explore, and the people are very kind. The school is very close to the residence, and you live with other foreigners. The hosts and my classmates were very nice, they welcomed me warmly, and I was able to make good friends there. Brandee is very kind and is always helping us. The classes are only three, which allows us to have time to hang out and rest. I loved the experience. I will miss it. 🥰
