Ecotura

We are located on the only National Park of Portugal, Peneda-Gerês, surround of pure nature and wild animals.
We are a family company that loves animals, and we moved from the capital, Lisbon, to the mountains, chasing our dream.
When we receive our guests, we treat them like family, and this is one of the things that makes the difference, and when you meet our horse family you will fall in love :P

Our Worldpackers will be treated like family, and they will be well received. We will share knowledge and for sure they will have an amazing time at our place

I had such an amazing time at Ecotura. I am very new to horses and so it was really special. Your doorstep is right on the stable, so you can look out or walk up to the horses, and it’s especially sweet when they greet you. The work is regimented, so you know what your day looks like - if an extra task was needed it was always manageable. Mariana, Pedro and Lisa are incredibly generous, always considering us, cooking extra, and even organised for us a horse riding lesson. Their hard work is admirable and you feel good to help. The nature around speaks for itself. Very special place.

This was my first experience with worldpackers and I am so glad it was with Pedro and Mariana they are really kind and always make sure you are good, and have all that you need, even when I was alone for the first week they made me feel comfortable.
The work was really not that difficult you have to take care of the horses feed clean around a bit it’s really not too time consuming and it leaves you with almost all the rest of the day to roam around or do some work if you have.
I really recommend this experience to anyone who likes horses if your lucky Pedro could give you a riding class.

I had a great 2 weeks at Ecotura! The location is beautiful, and I got to connect with nature a lot (mountains, waterfalls, etc). Mariana and Pedro were respectfully-strict, so we always knew what was expected of us work-wise, but if we ever made a mistake, they treated it as a learning lesson and were never mean. Mariana always had funny stories to share, and Pedro gave us really good life advice. They’re both super kind people who treat their animals very well, and I look up to them a lot :) They were also kind enough to let me ride with them in the mountains twice, which was beautiful!!!!

I had a lovely time Volunteering with Marianna and Pedro at their home. The working hours are well respected and the work is very manageable. The horses are vibrant with different personalities. The area is quiet but beautiful with lots of hidden gems. I’d definitely recommend this experience if you love horses, nature and don’t mind being alone!
