Ecotura

We are located on the only National Park of Portugal, Peneda-Gerês, surround of pure nature and wild animals.
We are a family company that loves animals, and we moved from the capital, Lisbon, to the mountains, chasing our dream.
When we receive our guests, we treat them like family, and this is one of the things that makes the difference, and when you meet our horse family you will fall in love :P

Our Worldpackers will be treated like family, and they will be well received. We will share knowledge and for sure they will have an amazing time at our place

I had a lovely time Volunteering with Marianna and Pedro at their home. The working hours are well respected and the work is very manageable. The horses are vibrant with different personalities. The area is quiet but beautiful with lots of hidden gems. I’d definitely recommend this experience if you love horses, nature and don’t mind being alone!

It has been a very good stay. I loved the work I had to do, it was something very calm and quick to do; rather than working I would describe it as "taking care of your horses" and it is literally like that. We have a lot of free time so I recommend taking a book or once there, walking around and discovering the surroundings.
Mariana is very friendly, she will always do her best for you and will give you everything you need during your stay. Pedro has taught me many things that I didn't know I would learn in 10 days, what I liked most about him is his patience.

My experience at Ecotura was fantastic! I was staying for 1,5 months and it was a very special time, as this was my first Worldpacker stay. Mariana and Pedro are such warm and kind souls, with a big heart for animals and people. They always made me feel welcomed, included and supported! They will always make sure that you have everything you need and you feel that they truly care. When I had an injury on my toes, they took it very seriously and took me to the hospital. Both are incredible hard workers who are well organised, dedicated and a lot of fun! Big thank you to Mariana, Pedro and Lisa

Thank you very much for a wonderful experience! I really enjoyed my stay. Everyone is very friendly and I loved spending time with the other volunteer, the dogs and horses. Mariana would regularly give us delicious food, and Pedro and Lise would take us out on rides and other trips as well. The location is extremely remote and extremely beautiful and the caravan we stayed in was cozy as well. If you are thinking of applying to this position, make sure you are prepared to live in an extremely remote place, are independent and proactive as you need to be responsible for entertaining yourself :)

I had the best experience visiting here! Mariana and Pedro welcomed me very warmly, always helped and answered all my questions—everything was very well organized and went smoothly. The work here was definitely not hard, and I also had plenty of free time to enjoy the stunning nature surrounding this place. If you are a nature and animal lover, I highly recommend coming here! A big thank you to Mariana and Pedro—sending my best wishes! I really hope I’ll get the chance to come back!
