Domaine de la Juranvillerie

Hello! My name is Vincent and I am 46 years old.

I run a large guest house in a charming little village on the edge of a forest in Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley, a French region rich in history and gastronomy.
Very popular with tourists for its châteaux, it offers a multitude of activities. Immerse yourself in French history, culture and language!

Slightly isolated in the forest, the location is perfect for walks in the countryside. An ideal place for lovers of peace and quiet. The village is five minutes away by bike and the nearest towns, Chinon, Langeais and Azay-le-Rideau, are ten minutes away by car.

Tours is 45 minutes away and Paris is an hour away by TGV.

My English is limited, so it's best to have some knowledge of French, even though Google Translate is my best friend!

I am looking for volunteers to help me with the daily tasks at my guest house, from breakfast to dinner. The work consists of helping me (it's more fun and faster with several people) to maintain the house and rooms for a few hours a day. The main idea is to free up some time to enjoy life and do some sightseeing. The work is a bit repetitive, but it's not complicated and is done in a pleasant environment. I am quite friendly and sociable, and my house is always open to visitors. People say I am passionate and talkative. I must welcome volunteers as members of my family and give them the same attention I give to my guests. I would like to show them my favourite châteaux, restaurants and places in the Loire Valley. The region is known for the Loire à Vélo, a cycle route that is very popular with tourists. I have bicycles available, including an electric one.

This was my first volunteering experience through Worldpackers and I honestly can't picture a better experience than the one I had with Vincent and Sylvain. I felt so much like a part of the family, all the tasks were explained to me clearly, the workload was fine, I had a lot of time for myself but we also spent a lot of time with Vincent and Sylvain visiting festivals, cooking tasty food, talking in French etc. I was living a slow life in the middle of the French countryside aka living the best life.

It was one of my first volunteer experiences abroad and I was a little nervous but I enjoyed it a lot! :) I’m grateful for hosting and this stay. I explored local life in France, know much more about this incredible country and myself too. I send all the best wishes to Vincent and Sylvain 🇫🇷🇵🇱🫶

I had an excellent time volunteering here. Vincent, Sylvain, and Pierre-Yves were very welcoming and generous during my stay, and were keen to show me different aspects of French culture (à la guinguette!) which I really appreciated. The work was pretty straightforward, and in my free time I enjoyed exploring the region on the bike. Some of the castles are absolutely breathtaking. Overall I have enjoyed myself and am grateful for this experience.

⭐ My experience in Domaine de la Juranvilerrie was simply unforgettable! 🌿
I felt like part of the family from day one. I learned so much about French culture, enjoyed every shared meal (and wine), and loved the daily routines with Una and Oasis 🐶. The real magic was in the exchange — stories, laughs, and kindness.
The tasks were simple but meaningful. But the true treasure of this experience was the human connection ✨
💌 If you’re looking for more than just a volunteer opportunity — if you want to live real moments, learn, laugh, and be moved — I wholeheartedly recommend this experience! ❤️

This was my 4th WP experience in France and it was by far the best! You aren not just seen as a non-payed employee, but as a part of the family that helps with the daily chores (that aren't many). Sylvain and Vincent are a very cultivated and traditional french couple that are eager to share with you the true french culture, from excellent food/wine to discussions. You are encouraged and expected to interact with them (and the guests, mostly during breakfast), so this isn't the place if you just want to stay locked inside your nice room or if you aren't interested in french culture.
