Dawid's Casa

We offer a beautiful house and refugio in the countryside, working to serve pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago. Ours is a house of love, compassion, and the ocean, relaxation and calm, cookies and movie nights. Here, we strive to provide a place for pilgrims to decompress after their camino. They are welcome for a night, 2 nights, or however long they like.

I have walked various caminos for 12 years, from the Frances and Norte, to the Primitivo and Portuguese. I have served as hospitalero and volunteered in the pilgrims office. We try to live the understanding here that we serve ourselves best by serving others. Our volunteers can expect to be treated as members of our family. You are a part of the house, and we want you to feel at home.

I LOVE the experience of volunteering with Steve in the albergue which was still in preparation. I learnt a lot about Muxia, the Camino, and Steve also shared a lot about his life experience. The place was amazing! Several scenic paths for walk, and 20mins of easy walk to arrive beach! Besides the beautiful nature, I also like my work there! I helped removing weeds, ferns and ivy to beautify surrounding. Steve gave clear instruction so I can do it even without previous experience. Having the pleasure of enjoy Steve's cook is another highlight! I'm truly grateful for this experience.

It was great to have Vicky here. She took to her tasks with great enthusiasm, and helped make a huge difference in the appearance of the grounds. Even though she had not done some of the things asked of her, she applied herself and did a fantastic job. The property has positively benefitted from Vicky being here, and we are grateful for her amazing help.

The experience at this place was amazing. The place is magical, in the middle of nature, between forests and the ocean. Steven makes you feel part of his home. We even went on excursions to the beach and at night we sat around the campfire, wonderful. I recommend this volunteering to anyone looking to feel at home and connect with nature. I am clear that whenever I return to Muxia, I will return to this place. Thank you very much for everything Steven!!

Alicia was a wonderful volunteer. As our albergue continues to evolve, Alicia took the lead with some great ideas that helped us immensely. Her laughter and joy are infectious, and having Alicia here lifted the spirits of the place. She works very hard. Not only is Alicia well organized and too much fun to work with, but she is a kind hearted human to have around. Thank you Alicia, for bringing your love and laughter to the house.
