WHY HANOI?

Where Heritage Meets Innovation:

Nestled in the northern part of Vietnam, Hanoi is a city where history whispers from every corner. Its ancient temples, bustling markets, and charming old quarters tell tales of centuries gone by. But don't let the nostalgia fool you—Hanoi is also a thriving metropolis where innovation and progress thrive. Here, you can explore age-old traditions and embrace the excitement of a dynamic city.

Your Volunteer Journey:

Live Like a Local

When you volunteer with us, you become part of a Vietnamese family. You'll stay with a welcoming host family that will introduce you to the real Hanoi. You'll have the chance to savor homemade Vietnamese cuisine, learn the language, and experience daily life like a local. It's an authentic cultural exchange that goes beyond the tourist surface.

Teach, Inspire, Transform

Your primary mission will be to teach English to eager young minds. You'll work at local kindergartens and English clubs, making a tangible difference in their education. The maximum working hours are 18 hours per week, giving you ample time to explore the city and its surroundings.

Support and Comfort

We've got your back. As a volunteer, you'll receive accommodation, three hearty meals a day, visa assistance, and airport pickup from Noi Bai International Airport. You'll also have access to transportation within the city, including a bus ticket for convenient travel.

Connect and Explore

Hanoi is a city of connections. You'll not only interact with your host family but also have the opportunity to meet fellow expats at our other volunteer houses. You'll share experiences, exchange stories, and make lifelong friends. Plus, Hanoi's central location makes it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of Northern Vietnam during your two days off each week.

We have an English-speaking team on ground here in Vietnam that is prepared to help our volunteers with the application process, visa process, and any other issues that may arise during your time here. We are easily accessible and are dedicated to supporting our amazing volunteers!

I enjoyed my 8 weeks teaching experience at the April English institute very much. This was one of my best work exchanges through Worldpackers.. The children were fun to work with and the staff, especially Nancy, was very attentive to my needs and always very helpful. Nancy even took me to the eye clinic so I could take an eye exam and buy a new pair of reading glasses. She even went back to the clinic to pick up the glasses when they were ready.

Thanks to all of the staff at April English!

This volunteering helped me improve my teaching skills and it was so lovely to work with children. C4C arranged for me to teach in Hanoi at Peter's Garden and I had a wonderful time there. Teaching in a different country is an experience we all must try! What's more, the host, Peter, was flexible and willing to help when needed. The accommodation was not in the center of the city but you find everything you need around and it is not difficult to get to the center by taking one bus. Kuddos and the best to all involved!

C4C placed me to volunteer as a kindergarten teacher at Peter Garden and was most unexpected, interesting and learning experience of a lifetime for me.

I couldn't have had a better host than him, always willing to help make us comfortable and went out of his way to make us experience the Vietnamese culture, food from the locals

I feel sick the few days I arrived, change of weather and I had the best care, including the assistants at the school.
