Casa Wolaba
Travelers will love our place. In the first floor we have 3 rooms with 6 beds each. These beds are a capsule type bed, which makes it more private . We have hammocks and rocking chairs in the social area, where there is also a TV to watch your favourite programs.
They will also get to know the small town, and will learn about our culture a lot.
We are 4 owners. We have staff for cleaning, bar, activities and reception. We are a great team, and I am sure that every traveler will love to join us. We are very frindly and we like people to feel at home.

Puerto Viejo es un lugar increíble con un ambiente súper mágico! El equipo del hostel es muy amable y servicial. El trabajo era el esperado y se cumplen las horas que se dicen. El hostal cuenta con aire acondicionado y baño privado para los voluntarios. Ambiente joven y actividades diarias en casa Wolaba. Muy recomendado!

This was such an amazing experience! The social nature of Casa Wolaba made it so easy to make friends with volunteers, guests, and locals. The activities every night are fun and great for socialising, since the position of bartending/activities is only night shifts you have a lot of free time to explore beautiful Puerto Viejo. The workload is very fair and enjoyable provided you have enough volunteers with you as management aren't always present. The facilities are great, I stayed in a 4 bed volunteers dorm, access to the pool/bikes were a highlight. I would definitely volunteer here again!

Mi experiencia en Casa Wolaba estuvo genial, es un hostel con mucho movimiento y actividades.
Disponen de bicicletas para voluntarios que te permiten usar en tu tiempo libre para disfrutar de Puerto Viejo y sus increíbles lugares para conocer, tanto el personal como los dueños siempre dispuestos a ayudarte y escucharte.

Casa Wolaba was an AWESOME place to volunteer at! I had so much fun bartending and coordinating activities, especially karaoke! The other volunteers made it feel like home for the month I was there. It’s a very social hostel, and you’ll have no trouble making friends with those around you. I was a little bummed because me and another volunteer had to work an extra shift because they didn’t get another person to help staff the bar, and they didn’t offer to compensate us or say thank you. I think if a meal a day was provided for us, I would rate this place 5 stars!

Agradecida por la experiencia de voluntariado. Sin embargo, la organización fue confusa: el encargado de voluntarios no vivía en el lugar y no sabíamos a quién dirigirnos ante problemas cotidianos. Compartíamos habitación con otra voluntaria cuya situación no estaba del todo definida y esto generaba ciertas tensiones. Además, esa persona solía invitar a otras personas a dormir en el espacio destinado a los voluntarios, lo que afectaba nuestra privacidad y sensación de seguridad. Con una mejor organización y más claridad en los roles, seria una experiencia aún mas enriquecedora para todos.
