Cafe Slotsgaden

It's a great occasion to get to know a very nice and cosy corner of Denmark. It's a very small village but not isolated. During summer we have tursit comming by and that's why i need a little extra help but you still got plenty of time to experience all that Sønderjylland offers . The natural reservate and the beach is not far away.

I'me danish but i've been living in Paris for 35 years . Now my Girls are all grown-up so a lately decided to come home and start this new adventure. I bought this house where there is a shop and a cafe and a lot of renovation to be done :-), so plenty of work for you

I had a great time at the Café and everyone was really welcoming. The work was not too hard and we had lots of fun together. Jane is really nice and her cooking is amazing. I can definitely recommend staying here!!!

We had a great time working at the cafe. It is a really cute and unique place full of antiques. You have to see that you work the hours you agreed before coming there yourself. The work in the cafe is simple and you can always ask if you need help. She even has two cute cats. The town is a bit ritual but if you plan your trips then you can visits lots of cities/ other towns.

Jane is incredibly kind and always treated us warmly. She has a big heart and is a great cooker—I’ll never forget the birthday meal she made for me on my second day. She helped with taxis, even covering the cost, and encouraged us to explore and try new activities. The only thing I would have liked is clearer organization of volunteer tasks and schedules. It’s a place with great potential if that improves. We had to leave early, but I’ll always remember it fondly.

I had a great experience with Jane. The café is beautiful and the antique shop is full of charm. Jane was kind and gave us a private room. The meals were delicious—she’s an amazing cook! The town is small and quiet, perfect if you’re looking for something off the beaten path. As a suggestion, it would help to list tasks more clearly on Worldpackers. Besides helping at the bar and shop, I also did gardening and cleaned very cluttered rooms. Thanks for everything, Jane—have an amazing season!

We really enjoyed everything.
The host was absolutely wonderful — she explained everything clearly, helped us, gave great advice on places to visit, cooked delicious meals, and did everything to make our stay comfortable.
The tasks were not difficult, and the schedule was flexible.
The other volunteers were amazing — we had great conversations and cozy evenings together.
The town itself is very beautiful and peaceful — a perfect place to relax and take a break from the noise and rush of everyday life.
