Beach Park Apartments

I live at Praia da Luz (Luz Beach) and the house is right in front of the beach.

You can learn a lot about a rich cuisine based on fish and seafood. You can learn authentic and tasty recipes.

You can live an authentic experience in the Algarve that you will not find in restaurants and hotels or on the beach.

You will be able to enjoy friends and the tasty sardine roasts.

And many social experiences between friendly and welcoming people.

And visit the many lovely villages with beautiful landmarks.

More about Luz Beach:

Formerly a fishing village, Luz has sandy blue flag beaches, clear water and the black rock (Rocha Negra). Dating back to medieval times it was called ‘Nossa Senhora da Luz’ – Our Lady of Light – after ‘Luz’ who was the patron saint of the village

The Parish of Luz was formally constituted in 1673 however dating back as far as the 13th century Luz has been connected with sardine fishing which employed around 90 men. In the 19th century the cannery industry also became an important part of the village and surrounding areas. Three factories served to conserve fish in olive oil, preceding the salting of sardine in the same fashion. These factories supported 100 workers, with the majority (60) of them being women. Luz was also a major producer off figs which were regularly exported to the fine sweets industry while wheat and barley were cultivated in many of the surrounding areas

Lagos city is 6km distance of Luz Beach!

One of the things that makes western Algarve's Lagos an ideal spot for so many is the amount of things to do! It is brilliant for water sports, with surfing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, diving and kitesurfing all being firm favourites. There's also a fantastic choice of boat trips going out from Lagos marina and from some of the beaches, where you can cruise along the coastline to the stunning grottos around the famous Ponta da Piedade, or you can jet off into the ocean for a spot of dolphin watching!

For those who prefer to stay on dry land, mountain biking is a really popular activity (with several companies doing trips and bike hire) and there are plenty of great places for walking and running too. Lagos is steeped in history, with plenty of sights to take in along the way, whether it be on bike, foot or on the tourist train. For golf lovers, there are several excellent courses within easy reach, the closest being the Onyria Palmares Golf Course at the back of Meia Praia beach and Boa Vista and Espiche Golf further west towards Sagres.

For family fun, there is Lagos Zoo in Barão de São João, which is a lovely day out for all ages and the water parks and popular Zoomarine theme park are less than 40 minutes away.

I'm Ana, my time is dedicated to my projects and career, and to both my sons. I have a big house by the beach and I could use some help in gardening, maintenance and with my work social media. Motivated and flexible are the key-qualities for the worldpackers who wish to help me out!

Recomiendo ampliamente a Bianca. Disfruté mucho conociéndola, compartiendo diversos temas y aprendiendo más sobre su cultura.

It was a good experience for a first volunteer, the tasks were relatively simple. Despite everything during the volunteering there is one of the small misunderstandings because the communication was not good at all. Everything was not clearly explained. Finally the places were very beautiful

Joseph and Olivia ,This was your first volunteer experience, although expectations were certainly high. You were fortunate to have a more experienced volunteer, also of French nationality, who guided you through the tasks and how to complete small tasks. I recommend that you do some volunteering in your country before embarking on a more distant experience that requires cultural adaptation. I'm glad you're taking home fond memories of Praia da Luz and the Algarve.

We were able to stay in one of the apartments since it wasn’t fully occupied during our volunteering experience, which made it more comfortable. We enjoyed the nearby beach and the surrounding nature.
