Phuong and José are great hosts and do everything to make you feel comfortable. The accommodation is excellent and very comfortable, and it’s very nice to teach English to children and teenagers. However, sometimes your schedule can be quite full on the same day. So, if you work remotely it’s important to talk to them about your working hours.

Staying with Athena English Center was unforgettable. Phuong was incredibly accommodating—taking us out for breakfast, helping set up Vietnamese SIM cards, getting us comfortable on scooters, and always making sure we had everything we needed. Truly, if you need anything, just ask. His wife was equally kind, regardless of the language barrier. She always left fruit trays or candy out. Both of them and the assortment of people we met in this house will always hold a place in our hearts. Their warmth and generosity made us feel completely at home, and we left feeling like part of their family!

Volunteering as an English teacher at Athena has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Working with kids of all ages is truly magical. You’ll be provided with a scooter to drive yourself to the different centers where you’ll be teaching. Phuong and Joe are incredibly kind and accommodating, always ensuring that we were well taken care of. They recommended some fantastic traditional restaurants and they organized several team outings, which were a great way to bond.
If you’re looking to make a real impact while experiencing the many beauties of Vietnam, I highly recommend this place

One of the best volunteering I have ever done. Phuong and Joe will do everything to make you feel part of the family from day one. Phuong is very accommodating and makes sure you have the chance to get to know Vietnamese culture and cuisine. The working hours are very manageable, even if you need to consider the time to get to the different centres on top of the working hours scheduled. You most likely going to get a room for yourself and always two meals daily. The kids were amazing and the group of teachers too. I highly recommend the experience :)

I had a fantastic experience! The hosts are incredibly welcoming and do everything they can to make sure you're comfortable. The hours are quite intense and you'll be working a decent amount but its incredibly rewarding. The lessons you teach are simple and you need to think up some games. The hosts are incredibly flexible and you can just ask for a day off if you need more free time. They were so accommodating to me! You get lunch and dinner so you're fed and you'll most likely get a room to yourself! The local area is great to explore and has everything you could need. This place is great!
