Anand Gram

Most travelers visiting India head straight to the big metro cities, often missing out on the essence of the country — the real India. Karnal, a small yet historically significant city linked to King Karna of the Mahabharata, offers a truly authentic and immersive experience. Surrounded by vibrant farmland and traditional villages, this region opens a window into rural Indian life that few get to see.

Here, I invite guests to experience both the simplicity of village and farm life, as well as the cultural richness of Karnal city. India is a land of immense diversity, and in this area alone, you can witness a beautiful blend of different cultures. The surroundings are dotted with ancient temples, especially near Anand Gram, offering spiritual and historical exploration for those interested.

Guests will also have the chance to connect with our extended network of friends and family living in nearby villages. You’re welcome to meet local families, observe their way of life, and learn firsthand about Indian traditions and daily routines. The level of your involvement is entirely up to you — whether you’d like to visit the local market, help prepare meals, run errands, or simply observe daily life before or after farm work, you’re encouraged to jump in and be a part of it.

For those interested in organic farming and permaculture, this is a great opportunity to both learn and share knowledge. Volunteers can actively participate in sustainable farming practices, contribute their own skills, and gain hands-on experience in a nurturing environment.

If your interests lean more toward inner exploration, this is also an ideal place. As a healer with a background in meditation, tantra, yoga, and alternative therapies, I’m happy to share my knowledge and guide guests in their spiritual journey — whether you're just beginning or looking to go deeper.

Welcome to Anand Gram – A Sanctuary of Spirituality, Nature, and Authentic Indian Living Namaste! I’m Swami Vimal Kirti, based in Karnal, Haryana, India. I am a Healer, Yoga and Meditation Teacher, Tantra Teacher, and Reiki Grand Master. Alongside guiding individuals on their spiritual path, I also teach The Science of Relationships and use a range of meditation therapies to support healing from psychosomatic disorders, emotional imbalances, and relationship challenges. Our home, now known as Anand Gram, is a 14-acre farm nestled in a peaceful village just 30 minutes from Karnal. The land is cultivated with rice paddies, a 5-acre fruit orchard, and sections of organic vegetables. At the heart of Anand Gram, we’ve created a Meditation and Healing Center, surrounded by flourishing green plantations—a tranquil space dedicated to growth, healing, and inner transformation. We warmly welcome volunteers who wish to connect with the earth and spirit alike. Whether it’s helping in the organic fields, caring for the orchard, or participating in spiritual activities at the center, Anand Gram offers a unique opportunity to experience conscious living in a nurturing, natural environment. Karnal’s central location makes it an excellent base for exploring many parts of India. But what truly makes this place special is the spirit of community. At Anand Gram, guests are treated like family. You’ll share meals, conversations, laughter, and daily life with us. We want you to not only relax and recharge but to deeply immerse yourself in the culture and rhythm of rural India. Whether you’re seeking spiritual growth, natural healing, or simply an authentic Indian experience, Anand Gram opens its heart to you. Come, experience, learn, share, and grow. Welcome to the family.

The place itself is nice the host is also okay. From the list of things offered for the volunteers the meditation is the only one i saw happening (it seeme nice i couldnt join cause i was feeling sick). Maybe they do have more activities if u ask, but since no information was given i assumed they didn't have. The job its very heavy it didn't feel like a volunteering ...felt like a part time job that u don't enjoy.
Also no breakfast is available... again in contradiction of what was offered in here.
I wish all the best to everyone there. Thanks 🙏

Dear Thiago,
This is a holistic retreat center for healing and dropping seriousness. Meals are at 11 AM and 5 PM, clearly mentioned in our profile and on the notice board—you knew this. To join activities, check the board, ask someone, or talk to the admin. But you showed no interest or participation. I invited you to the temple, but you didn’t come. Even later, you stayed distant. Volunteering also means being a bit social. Opening up helps the healing.

Warm regards.

Anandgram - A serene place nestled in nature, it's a Health & Mindfulness Centre that offers a soulful retreat. With organic farming, pure vegetarian meals, and fruits straight from the orchard, it's a haven of mindful living. Daily meditation grounds you, while inspiring programs for local school kids add heart. Meeting travellers from France, Israel, Sweden, and Indian cities creates deep connections. Anandgram is where simplicity meets peace—a space to breathe, reflect, and live by discovering oneself. Strongly recommended!
Thanks.

They greeted me interestingly, even sprinkled me with flower petals. That's all I can say that's good. If you work fast and well, you'll have a lot of work, like I did. They basically want you to work 5 hours, so you can do any job for a long time, even simple ones. They fed me twice a day. I left there without being there for a week, after they told me to wash their car, which I laughed at and refused. This is not correctional labor, this is volunteer work, and washing a car is not one of them.

Anton was welcomed with warmth and flowers, following the Indian tradition of treating guests like gods.

He stayed only two days, avoided most tasks, seemed irritable, and left without informing anyone.

Our kitchen is open all day, and volunteers can eat freely. The expected work is just 4–5 hours a day, yet he made no effort to contribute.

His negative review is baseless and unfortunate. We wish him well and hope life brings him more clarity and understanding.

It is a quiet place, you can appreciate India in a different way, connect with your interior during your free time and the tasks to be performed are quite simple, you have the opportunity to connect with locals and of course other volunteers.
