Horrible. There are two shelters: Myrna's is said to be very good, but I was at Anne's. The contact with the animals was good but there is seriously something wrong with this place.

Sorry to hear that from you. Well, as you were expert in horses we were happy you could help us with them. When there are problems, we are pleased to know about it, the problem is that a shelter with soo much abandoned animals without economical help is not a luxury place, and we are happy to receive help, but we can not know how people are. So, thanks again for your help and we hope that you feel better in other places. You never told what has to be changed in your opinion.

I volunteered at the shelter with Anne for one month and it was really an experience of a lifetime, something I will remember forever! The animals, dogs, cats, horses, will forever stay with me🥰 The work is 4 hours per day 8:30-12:30, mostly cleaning poop and feeding the animals. As we live with the dogs, it is clear that the place isn't very clean always. Also without a car from there it's quite difficult to explore the island because the buses are rare and usually late. If you love animals and want to make a change in their lives and give them love this place is for you, do it😊

Estuve con Myrna y Paco.Tuve una habitación para mi, todos los animales que están allí son cariñosos y agradecidos, yo los voy a echar de menos aunque por la noche y la mañana ladran bastante(normal).Myrna durante el dia está bastante ocupada pero se entrega mucho para que veas la isla y llevarte con ella siempre que pueda. Ellos son muy abiertos y te escuchan.Para mejorar diría que pasamos bastante hambre.Hubo un dia que nos dejó en la montaña a las 11 de la mañana y hasta las 19 no llegamos a casa y solo llevabamos fruta,comimos porque un señor de allí nos dió, y como esta más cosas.

Puse 4 estrellas a Mireya, porque no la quieria herir. No me importa que ella pone 2 estrellas, es algo típico de ella. No voy a comentar más nada, porque lo de la caminata con hambre es porque ella no era capaz hacer un picnic en condiciones, aquí en la cocina hay de todo. Hasta una plancha que por ser despistada no la apagó , y si uno no se da cuenta se pega fuego la casa... Así, siento mucho que pasó, y espero que ha aprendido algo de su primer voluntariado, tuvo que haber eligió otro lugar.

No tengo más que cosas buenas para decir sobre este voluntariado. Me tocó estar en casa de Myrna, y pasé un mes maravilloso. Los animales son preciosos, Myrna y Paco excelentes anfitriones y personas. Trabajan mucho para darles todo a sus animales y para hacer la experiencia del voluntario agradable. Participamos en colectas de alimentos y recaudaciones para la protectora, y compartimos muchos momentos bonitos. Recomiendo completamente esta experiencia si te gustan los animales y si deseas aportar un granito de arena a un proyecto tan lindo. Gracias por todo! ya los estoy extrañando 🫶🏼

This was my first experience with Worldpackers and I must say that it was exactly what I needed ( the perfect mix between physical work and personal time to explore and enjoy this beautiful island).I didn't work at Myrna's finca but at Anne's who really needs a looot of help as well. If you are an animal lover I think it's impossible to not enjoy this place (they really have all kinds of animals) but you have to keep in mind that sweating it's on the list:). Every single dog will always have a special place in my heart…

La experiencia con Myrna ha sido para repetir. Siempre está dispuesta a ayudarte. Las tareas son fáciles limpieza , fuimos a una recogida de alimentos y mostramos amor a los animales. La asociación necesita mucha ayuda, como recomendación si solo tienes pensado trabajar las horas estipuladas te recomendaría otro sitio, vale la pena quedarse en la casa e intentar echar una mano en lo que Myrna necesite.

Myrna y Paco son maravillosos, hacen una labor increíble, tienen un corazón de oro y siempre intentan adaptarse y ayudarte en lo que necesites, son una verdadera familia. Es imposible que no les termines queriendo muchísimo. Myrna y Paco are amazing people, they make an incredible labor with all the animals in their little (not than little family shelter), always trying to help you and make as confortable as possible your estance there. They are a truly and lovely family with a pretty big heart. It's imposible to not love them. Muchas gracias Myna, Paco y Aleka i'am gonna miss you all.

Staying with Myrna and Paco was a great experience that i hope to do again. It was an extremely rewarding time in which i got to help take care to loving and friendly animals and learn about the island. Of course this is volunteer WORK so obviously expect and be prepared to work hard to upkeep the animals but you have free time during the day around jobs to explore or spend quality time with animals. Myrna and Paco are lovely hosts and made me feel right at home, both extremely kind and bubbly people :)

La experiencia en general fué muy enriquecedora. Estuve un mes en casa de Myrna y Paco que son una pareja encantadora de la que aprenderás mucho y tratarán de ofrecerte todas las comodidades para que te sientas como en casa y también puedas disfrutar de la isla. El amor y compañía que te ofrecen los animales es único. Ellos te piden que hagas lo básico para mantener cierta limpieza y comodidad para los peludos pero siempre se puede hacer más y si aportas una parte que ellos no te exigen siempre te lo agradecerán, necesitan ayuda, esto no es un hotel. Ellos aman los animales por encima de todo.

It was a 360 grades experience, where you can touch the life in a life of different view. I had time to work and then to do what I prefer, I really like it. I was very helped by the host, she is very helpful and she gives a lot of information for immerse in the local culture. Thank you sooo much!
