I spent 3 weeks there during the busy summer season in the hostel. Swinney always looked after me and the tasks were well managed. It's an amazing island with beautiful scenery and trekking in between the rough weather. I recommend to stay for nature lovers. Thank you Swinney and Alicia!

Volunteering at the hostel was amazing! It is such a cozy, welcoming hostel, you'll feel right at home! The managers are very nice and caring and the work was easy and quick, so you have a lot of time for trips around the island (even more time if you don't wait for the bus and hitchhike instead:)) The other people I volunteered with were wonderful, we became good friends and spend a lot of time exploring together after work! I'll miss this place and the people I met here and can only recommend to volunteer at the hostel :)

The isla of the hostel is magical, it was there like therapy, it's like combining the useful with the pleasant, at the same time I went to learn English I had a lot of fun, people are always willing to help us.

Manager Swinny & receptionist Alicia both were incredibly inviting & made clear our duties. Staff dorm room was good size & both the kitchen & lounge are spacious to hang in. We clean both the hostel & Lochbuie hostel where the MacBackpackers tours stay at. My hours were 10am-2pm as nightporter. Kyleakin had a few pub/restaurants. I walked daily the 35 minutes over the hostel Bridge into Kyle for groceries/exercise. A bit difficult to get around to the hostel sights, but it can be done planning ahead with the bus schedule or hitchhiking.

This was a cosy wee hostel with many lovely people working there! Tasks were delegated fairly between everyone and both managers were clear and respectful in their commications. We were always having a laugh which I appreciated being so far away from home.

My time at the hostel was great. Swinny, Alicia and all the other volunteers are super friendly. Kyleakin is very small and lovely place, perfect if you are looking for more remote area. The job is easy and chill and the view on the way to the supermarket is super nice. I would definitely recommend joining the hostel team :)

I had so much fun at the hostel! The few weeks I spent there, I felt so welcomed by the staff and the other volunteers. The volunteers work as a team and you will be spending a lot of time together. The work is from 10:30-2:30 and it was not difficult. The kitchen facilities are great so you have plenty of space to cook your own meals with the stipend. The village, Kylakin is quite remote, so you do have to plan your trips to the grocery store in the next town over but the walk is gorgeous and provides great views. Don't forget to pack a raincoat!

My time on the hostel and in this hostel has been very rewarding and if you are looking for a beautiful and peaceful place, don't hesitate to apply here! The work itself is very easy and most of the time you even finish early, which allows you to explore as much of the island as you can. And even though Kyleakyn is a small town, is very well connected by bus with rest of the island. Thank you Swiney and Alicia! I really felt like at home during my stay!

It was my first trip with Worldpackers, and this place was a great start. The management team was fantastic and made me feel comfortable. I can't forget the memories I made there. The town was very quiet and peaceful. I loved visiting and wish I could go back again.❤
